“When working and filming a drama, I usually don’t have much time to sleep. So, due to lack of sleep, my skin can get really dry sometimes. I usually use a hydrating mask every day.”
When asked what her skincare and beauty must-haves are, the actress explained that she never leaves home without slapping on some hydrating cream and applying a thin layer of foundation (using a BB cushion) on her face.
She’ll then finish the look with just a touch of lip tint for some colour.
“Being an actress, I have to put on makeup very regularly — and sometimes very heavily too — which can really tire my skin. So while putting on nice makeup is very important, cleansing is just as important too.”
Despite how she’s known for having such luscious lips, Shin Hye loves keeping her skincare routine simple and easy.
Her tip for getting great lips? Moisturise! “I don’t enjoy wearing heavy makeup. So I will consistently use moisturising lip balm.”
“I get tanned very easily and sometimes in the heat, I get rashes or skin irritation. So, whenever I don’t have a sheet mask, I take some cotton pads, soak it in with some toners and apply it onto my face to cool it down. Sunscreen is also very important!”
“The three main things I learned from makeup artists are, to keep [makeup] application as a thin as possible, [to make your makeup look] as natural as possible and to [keep skin] as moisturising as possible.”
“I like to try different leisure sports. Some of the most recent ones I tried were wake boarding and surfing. To get my parents involved, I also tried golf.”
“Just before a big trip overseas, I make sure to check that the accommodation I stay at as a swimming pool and a gym. I really love working out and that sense of accomplishment I get when I sweat. After working out, I like taking a dip in the pool; it makes me feel like my worries float away.”
