Gucci just keeps on giving. Back in 2017, The Italian Maison launched an eclectic collection of homeware items back dubbed Gucci Decor. Moving into F&B, it debuted its gourmet restaurant, Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura — Singapore Edition in 2019 that was reportedly fully sold out.
After launching many fragrances, it revived its makeup line last year with a range of lipsticks that came in a multitude of shades and offered stunning matte finishes with creamy textures. Fast forward to 2020, and the brand has revealed its highly-anticipated face and eye makeup collection that launched on July 15 at Takashimaya S.C. and Tangs.
“Gucci Beauty is for telling the story of who you are in whatever way you want. Makeup should accentuate, not conceal as it is, in essence, a physical expression of the self. It is about owning each feature and each perceived ‘flaw’ because these are what separate me from you,” shared Michele. And we couldn’t agree more.
The collection features three key products, designed to enhance our features and complement their existing lipstick range. Below, we take a closer look at each product.
Poudre De Beaute Mat Naturel ($95) is a loose blurring face powder that contains a combination of micro reflecting lamellar powders to mattify and set for a fresh-looking complexion all day. It comes in a pale pink refillable compact decorated with gold trimmings. Available in 12 shades and suitable for all skin types, its soft sponge applicator is crafted from microfibre textures and constructed to allow for a versatile application and coverage in hard-to-reach areas.
The compact cushion is layered underneath the powder, to reveal the pat in the most hygienic manner, simply tilt the case to the side, and push it up to lift the upper layer. Made with microfibres, the sponge is flexible enough to blend around the creases of the nose and all around the face.
The Crayon Definition Sourcils ($39) brow pencil features a powdery texture that delivers flake-free matte colour to the brows while a velvety, easy-to-blend formula simply means it does not smudge, bleed or transfer once applied.
The dual tip brow pencil is part spoolie and part pencil. With its soft powdery formula, it lends hair-like strokes that are as fine and as thin as you’d like them to be. Draw upwards in light and swift strokes before taking a spoolie to brush and blend out the brows.
This multi-use gel gloss is known as Eclat De Beaute Effet Lumiere ($43). Suitable for the eyes, cheeks, and lips, this creates a luminous, glossy effect to the skin thanks to its high-shine power. It glides on seamlessly and blends easily for all-day comfort.
Mix it in with your lipstick or any type of powder or gel to create a nice glossy effect around the lips. You can even use this gel gloss to create the all too famous “wet look”. Or, in its most subtle and stunning form, use it as a highlighter on the cheekbones so that it catches the light in a beautiful way.
Creative Director Alessandro Michele and Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas crafted this range of fragrances extracted from pure natural plants and flowers layered with modern molecules. Each fragrance and formula in the Alchemist’s Garden is inspired by the science of alchemy, telling the story of a place, a moment, or a memory. The scents are also customisable and can be layered, so you can easily curate a distinct combination of a signature scent. Exclusively available at Gucci Beauty’s brand new counter at TANGS, you can swing by to test out the different scents.
