Halloween weekend’s come and gone, and we were treated to a bevy of weird, wonderful, and downright OTT Halloween costumes donned by the stars. There were, of course, no lack of costumes inspired by the breakout show Squid Game, and we also spotted a couple of Morticia Addams. Then there’s Heidi Klum, who didn’t just get dressed up but put out her own short creepy Halloween film.
From local celebrities to Hollywood and Hallyu stars, here’s how they celebrated the spookiest night of the year.
Heidi Klum isn’t the queen of Halloween for nothing. Continuing from her short horror film last year, which saw her and husband Tom Kaulitz getting killed by her four demon kids.
Picking where they left, the new video’s titled “Heidi Does Halloween 2: Klum’s Day”, and Heidi realises she’s been buried alive… but something weird is going on and she’s most definitely not herself. Expect references from iconic thrillers and horror shows.
Harry Styles sure didn’t disappoint at his own concert, which was just one massive Halloween party, really. The singer took on Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, right down to the sparkling ruby slippers.
Is that Lizzo? The 33-year-old singer went all out to dress up as Grogu aka Baby Yoda from “The Mandalorian. Not only did she wear a long blonde wig and pointy ears, she covered her body in green paint, too.
The girls from Blackpink have gotten into the festive spirit this year with the band’s youngest member Lisa dressing up as the doll from Squid Game. And while Jisoo’s look might seem rather… normal, but it’s actually Lisa’s get-up from her new music video LaLisa. Cute!
Meanwhile, fellow member Jennie got inspiration from Medusa with a gorgeous serpentine headpiece and talon-like nails to match.
Meanwhile, Rose dressed up as a student, which isn’t quite Halloween-esque – until you read what’s on the front of her book, which says “All My Friends Are Dead”.
Gotham’s got a new Batman: Super Junior’s Choi Siwon.
And it wasn’t just Siwon who got all decked out for the occasion. South Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment had its own Halloween House, which saw its artistes all in costume, including popbands Red Velvet, NCT 127, Aespa, and the other members of Super Junior.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen never disappoint for Halloween, and here they are as the iconic Addams Family; they’ve even roped in Teigen’s mom dressed up as the Addams’ Grandmama, as well as a fifth person as the long-haired Cousin It.
Is that Neo and Trinity from The Matrix? Nope, it was radio DJs Sonia Chew and Joakim Gomez.
Safe Distancing Ambassadors could be your worst nightmare – if you’re caught flouting Covid-19 rules and restrictions that is, according to Singapore fashion model Vivien Ong.
Is that a hint at a future role as part of the Fremen tribe in Dune, Michelle Yeoh?
Reese Witherspoon drew inspiration from Tippi Hedren’s role as Melanie Daniels in 1963 American natural horror-thriller The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock for this whimsical get-up.
Cardi B absolutely killed it as Morticia Addams.
Hailey Bieber paid homage to and revisited Britney Spears’ most iconic looks.
Behind one of those masks of Squid Game’s mysterious guards is local actor Pierre Png.
Not only did veteran local actress Chen Xiuhuan and her family get dressed up as the characters from Squid Game, they made their own dalgona candy, too. Too adorable!
It looks like Zed’s inherited his mum’s passion for baking, even going to the lengths of scheduling a Halloween baking session and putting on a chef’s hat.
Meanwhile, mum Fann Wong was a cross between a witch, and Harley Quinn, with the iconic red and blue eyeshadow, and heart tattoo.
Local actress Joanne Peh kept it simple but cute with a pair of devil’s horns and skeletal accessories, while her husband and fellow actor Qi Yuwu gave his face mask a scary spin.
