There’s A Carnival, Indoor Karting & Glamping At Changi Airport’s Festive Village

It’s beginning to look like Christmas at Changi Airport

by Michelle Lee  /   November 4, 2022

It’s getting jolly at Changi Airport — the annual Changi Festive Village is making a celebrated return this year with light-ups, installations, light projections and more.

One highlight not to miss is the fun-filled Terminal 3 (T3) Underground Carnival that runs from Nov 4, 2022 to April 2, 2023. Spanning across 9,000 sqm and two basement levels, you can look forward to over 30 carnival rides (bumper car rides!), game booths, and plenty of photo ops to be had.

And if you’re up for a magical sleepover, there are whimsical glamp-cations alongside picnic experiences happening at Jewel Changi Airport too. Here’s what to know.

Visit the Changi Festive Village website for more information.

Dive into the past, present, and future at T3 Underground Carnival

Kickstart your adventure at the T3 Underground Carnival by going back in time — at The Great World (Basement 2 Carpark 3A) you’ll find a recreation of the beloved Tua Seh Kai Great World Amusement Park. Soak in the nostalgic vibes with well-loved carnival games and rides, heritage photo zones, and a “mama shop” selling old-school snacks.

Hidden in the corner of The Great World lies the World of Jellyfish, a first-in-Singapore installation, where you can snap selfies with luminescent floating jellyfish!

Then jump back to the present at The Modern World (Basement 2), which has various game booths, from the Ball the Clown ball toss game to the King Hammer strongman challenge, to test your aim, strength, and luck. The area also houses a 3D shooting gallery that boasts a variety of scenarios, enemies and levels — the perfect way to pit your skills against other players and stand to win cuddly plushies.

Thrillseekers will enjoy The Future World (Basement 3) with a Wonder Wheels bumper car attraction and an upcoming Dino Kart 3.0 circuit. For the indoor karting experience, think neon lights, electrifying beats, and views of iconic Singapore sights to fuel your need for speed.

Take note that the Dino Kart 3.0 only opens from Nov 10, 2022, and is only for participants aged 13 and above (as of race date). Covered shoes must be worn at all times. Direct purchase tickets are at $28 (Mon to Thurs) and $33 (Fri to Sun, PH and eve of PH) via the iChangi app, or through carnival credits redemption. Click here to find out more.

The T3 Underground Carnival opens Wed to Fri (5.30pm to 9.30pm), and Sat, Sun, school holidays and public holidays (12pm to 10pm).

The carnival areas are free for all to enter, but carnival credits are required for all rides, games and snacks. Carnival credits can be purchased on the iChangi app or with a physical carnival card at the ticketing booths at T3 Underground Carnival. From Nov 1 to 17, 2022, enjoy early bird promotions at $100 for 130 carnival credits via the iChangi app. Alternatively, get up to 10 free carnival credits when you spend a minimum of $50 at airport landside outlets and $80 for FairPrice Finest and Jewel participating outlets with Mastercard or Changi Pay.

Or spend the night at Jewel Changi Airport’s Cloud9 Piazza (Level 5), where you’ll be housed in marine-themed, Avatar-inspired tents. You’ll also get a lovely view of the HSBC Rain Vortex.

Each themed tent accommodates up to four guests and provides glampers with lots of photo ops. The Glampcation package comes with two queen-sized air beds, and an amenity kit. There’s also a goodie bag (worth up to $290) of limited edition Avatar 2 merch, T3 Underground Carnival credits, four tickets to River Wonders at Singapore Zoo

If an overnight stay isn’t for you, you can opt for the daytime Glampicnic (12pm to 4pm) also held in the themed tents. The package comes with a tea party set. You can bring your own picnic basket, or pre-order from Changi Eats, Changi Airport’s food delivery service. This allows you to mix and match your favourite food and drinks from a bevy of dining options at Jewel and Changi.

The Glampicnic accommodates up to six guests and comes with Avatar 2 merchandise and a pair of tickets to River Wonders.

A sellout in previous years, the ‘A Night at the Airport’ camp is back for the third year running. Packed with new activities, the overnight camp promises lots of holiday fun and makes for a great family bonding time.

Centred around sustainability, you’ll get to go on an Amazing Race-style quest around the airport to learn about its sustainability efforts as well as other fun facts. Or create eco-friendly festive ornaments using recycled items to adorn your home, and play airport-themed games before ending the day with a sleepover in the Changi Experience Studio.

You’ll also receive entry tickets (one ticket per person) to Canopy Park and Changi Experience Studio.

$78 (adult) and $88 (child), from Nov 19 to Dec 23, 2022. Click here to book the stay or find out more.
