The season to be jolly is here, and what’s arguably one of, if not the most, anticipated Christmas events is returning to Gardens by the Bay from Dec 2. That’s right, Christmas Wonderland is set to open its doors this December, with a whole lot of sparkling installations, fun activities, photo-worthy corners, and festive food to regale in.
This year, Christmas Wonderland runs from Dec 2, 2022 to Jan 1, 2023, and tickets have already gone on sale. From towering structures festooned with thousands of lights to sparkling buses to hop on and festive markets, are some of the highlights.
Tickets are priced from $8 per person and must be purchased online prior to arrival. There are four time slots available each evening. Purchase in advance for discounted tickets
Intricately handcrafted by Italian artisans, the magnificent 21m-tall (that’s five double decker buses) Spalliera at St. Nick’s Square with 103,000 light bulbs is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the event.
Nearby, there’s the Venetian Double-Storey Carousel, which you can go round and round, while taking in a festive edition of the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show (daily shows at 7.45pm, 8.45pm, and 9.45pm). Also, hop on board the glittering bus at Navidas Station, or climb into the enchanting Magical Carriage.
Be sure to catch Santa for photo ops before he takes off to deliver presents around the world.
Then make your way to the Merry Lane, where the brand new Jolly Express, Poinsettia Castle and Gingerbread House light displays are situated, promising countless photo opportunities.
The attraction will also feature an illuminated igloo, polar bears, and fluffy white ‘snow’ for a wintry escapade.
Over at the Gingerbread Grove, spot the 10m-tall Whimsical Windmill, a brand new kinetic light display set in a field of 250 candy canes lit by over 35,000 bulbs.
The highly popular and Instagrammable Walk of Lights has been upgraded, with 50,000 programmable LED lights illuminating a myriad of colours along a 50m-long tunnel.
When you’re feeling peckish, make a beeline for ELFresco, which makes a welcomed return with some of Singapore’s popular food and beverage establishments. There’s Brewerkz, Burger & Lobster, Hendrick’s, Pita Tree, Sofnade and more serving up delectable festive bites and tipples. To make it a merrier affair, visitors will be serenaded by daily performances of festive tunes by local artists throughout the event.
For a whole lot of fun, head over to the Games Village and have a go at a selection of traditional carnival games such as Fishy Fishy, Ring Toss, Pyramid Smash, High-Striker and more. And if you’re in the mood for Christmas shopping, Mistletoe Alley has a row of festive huts selling crafts and gifts.
Tickets to Christmas Wonderland start from $8. Visit its website or its official ticketing partner KKday for tickets or more information. Book tickets early to enjoy up to 33 per cent off the regular ticket price.
