It’s Okay To Not Be Okay just released their final episode last weekend, and for those who have been following along this captivating romance television drama, it might come as huge dismay that the wonderful chemistry between Kim Soo-Hyun and Seo Ye-Ji will no longer grace our screens. This series told a unique love story while prioritising the important dialogue of mental health and mental wellness. Beyond romance between the two, it also delves into the questions of family and what healthy relationships look like. It’s safe to say that this was the first of its kind in the history of Korean dramas.

For those who have already seen the majority of K-dramas on Netflix and are wondering what else there is to watch next, we’ve curated a list of shows coming soon on Netflix. Here are four Korean dramas to watch after you finish “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay”, and why you’ll love them.

Goo Ra-Ra is a pianist with a bright personality, but something happened that caused her to be bankrupt and hit rock bottom when she meets the rough and mysterious Sun Woo-Joon. As someone who makes ends meet by working part-time jobs, he is free-spirited and doesn’t have a dream goal for his life, but he has a warm heart. You may know Lee Jae-Wook for his work in “When the Weather is Fine” and “Extraordinary You”, and Go Ara for her work in Hospital Playlist, Haechi, and Hwarang. If you loved the romance and light-hearted moments of It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, then you might want to add this to your Netflix queue.

Premieres on Netflix on August 26 with new episodes every Wednesday and Thursday.

#2 The World of the Married

For those who follow closely along with the world of K-drama, this show came out in March and wrapped up in May but will finally be available on Netflix this month. Ji Sun-Woo is a family medicine doctor who is married to Lee Tae-Oh who dreams of becoming a famous movie director. A turbulent twister of lies, betrayals and revenge tears apart the seemingly picture-perfect marriage between a doctor and a filmmaker.

If you loved the drama and tension in It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, then The World of the Married is for you. This is the highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history, with its final episode it even overtook SKY Castle’s ratings. The drama also received positive reviews from critics for its screenplay, direction, and acting performances.

Starts streaming on Netflix on August 28.

#3 Sweet Munchies

Park Jin-Sung is a chef and runs his own late-night snack restaurant, and he’s struggling to pay for his father’s medical bills. To get his own TV show, he tells a major lie that complicates his relationships with those around him, and he gets involved with TV show producer Kim A-Jin.

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay gave as much story and plot to the side characters as they did the leads, and if you loved the depth of that approach then you should go ahead and add Sweet Munchies to your list.

This show wrapped up just a few months ago in June, but will start streaming on Netflix on August 28.

#4 Stranger: Season 2

Not many K-dramas get a second season, and when they do, it speaks to the triumph of the show. When Stranger first debuted in 2017, the crime thriller drama series was listed on the New York Times as their Tenth Best TV Show of 2017, and it even won the Grand Prize for Television at the 54th Baeksang Art Awards.

If you loved the crime and thriller elements of It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, Stranger will take it to a whole new level. This season will follow Prosecutor Hwang Shi-Mok and Detective Han Yeo-Jin (like the previous season) as they find themselves on opposing sides with the police. The prosecutors, including Woo Tae-Ha (played by Choi Moo-Sung), want discretionary power over the investigations but the police, including Choi Bit (played by Jeon Hye-Ji) will try to get complete investigative authority. In the midst of a power clash between prosecutors and police, Shi-Mok and Yeo-Jin uncover murky secrets as they pursue a labyrinth of intertwined cases.

Premieres on Netflix on August 15, with new episodes every Saturday and Sunday. Although, if you’re new to this series, you can get started with season 1 on Netflix as it’s available now.
