It’s a misconception that only those with youth on their side are capable of achieving hot bodies. Cases in point: older male celebrities above 40, like Jerry Yan and Gong Yoo, who are still keeping fit and maintaining bodies that could rival their younger counterparts. Of course, regardless of age, a physique like this takes a ton of discipline – we’re talking hours at the gym and really watching what you eat. Consider this listicle a celebration of their – ahem – achievements. Scroll down to see for yourself!
The Train To Busan actor’s personal trainer gave an interview to Allure Korea, as well as a peek at Gong Yoo’s sculpted upper body. We always knew that the 41-year-old is fit, but we never knew he’s Marvel superhero-level fit. Watch out for his drama comeback – three years after smash hit Goblin – on Netflix’s Sea of Silence. No word yet on the release date, but watch this space for updates!
The Meteor Garden hunk made the headlines recently with a 30-second bathtub scene on his new drama, Count Your Lucky Star. Let’s just say that there was very little left to the imagination, as we could detail all the outlines on his abdominal muscles. Interested in watching already? This drama also got netizens talking because of the 20-year age gap between Jerry and his 23-year-old costar Shen Yue, who plays his love interest.

Yeah, we had to pick our jaw off the floor when we saw this thirst trap by Edmund Chen too. The 59-year-old father of two had been working out hard with his family, and his son Yixi teased in the comments that Edmund has yet to reach his goal of an eight-pack. Edmund’s wife, veteran actress Xiang Yun, was also reported to have lost 8kg in three months. Talk about a fit fam!

Remember when Chuando went viral for being ridiculously good-looking? It’s been 3 years since that fateful day, and yes, the youthful-looking Singaporean photographer still does not look a day over 35. What sorcery is this? And in case you’re wondering, this guy avoids eating 7 hours before bedtime, goes to the gym regularly, and his breakfast consists of 12 egg whites, avocadoes, and berries.

Ah yes, not listicle on hunky uncles would be complete without the OG hunkle, Zheng Geping. The 56-year-old fitspo has said in an interview that due to various injuries from action stunts, he has been taking his workouts down a few notches. However, he’s still focused on keeping himself in shape and living up to his reputation as a hunkle. His goal? To be able to do one more shirtless photoshoot (or scene) at the age of 60. Whew.

Idris Elba was named the Sexiest Man Alive in 2018 by People, but if you ask us, he should be named the Sexiest Man Alive every damn year. Now, the English stud doesn’t flex on his social media platforms, but we suggest you check out Fighter, a documentary that follows Idris Elba on his professional kickboxing journey.

For the record, we really disliked the character of Michael Teo in Crazy Rich Asians, except during ~that steamy scene~ where he stepped out of the shower. Pierre apparently had 3 weeks to bulk up, and was put on a tough workout schedule and strict diet. We gotta say — that really paid off! What a glow-up from the nerdy Phua Chu Beng we’re familiar with!

Ah, talk about a man who aged like fine wine. Brad’s appearances in movies like Fight Club and Troy cemented his status as a hunky Hollywood star, and he reminded us again, at the age of 55, why he’s deserving of that reputation. His role as Cliff Booth – a war veteran and stunt double – in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood saw him taking his shirt off in one scene, and for a moment there, we all forgot that we were looking at a man who technically classifies as a senior citizen.

It’s hard to believe that the Irish-American actor, who was once James Bond, is approaching his 70s. He’s still strikingly good-looking, and judging by his recent appearances, has been keeping himself in good shape. Catch his latest film appearance on Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga, where he plays Will Ferrell’s father… who’s also known as the “the most handsome man in Iceland”.
