The National Day Parade (NDP) was held at the Padang yesterday, with many of us soaking up the festivities at the parade or watching the livestream from home. If you’re curious about what our local celebs were up to, here’s a peek at how stars like Zoe Tay, Yvonne Lim, Ya Hui and JJ Lin commemorated Singapore’s 58th birthday.
Those who were down at Marina Bay Sands yesterday might have caught homegrown superstar JJ Lin at his cafe Miracle Coffee yesterday. The man himself was brewing up a storm behind the counter, and all decked out in red and white.
While Yvonne Lim and her family weren’t in town to celebrate National Day, they recreated the experience in their home in Taipei by getting dressed up and waving Singapore flags.
Zoe Tay spent the public holiday at a nature park, even bringing along a Singapore flag for a patriotic snapshot. In her caption, she wished Singapore a happy birthday, as well as prosperity and stability.
While celebrating the nation’s birthday, celeb couple Jesseca Liu and Jeremy Chan also marked their sixth ROM anniversary! From her hashtag, the pair appear to be in Japan (with a helicopter and Singapore flag superimposed in the background).
Chen Xiuhuan went all out for the occasion with a National Day party with friends and family at home while catching the NDP on television. From cheery red and white balloons to a spread of local delights like a nasi lemak buffet, prata, and chicken curry, and even a homemade watermelon cake, they look like they had an absolute blast.
It was date night for Drea Chong and her husband Imran Rahim, who left the kids at home for the day and headed to the Padang to catch the parade.
Did you catch Iman Fandi’s performance during the parade? The songstress and daughter of local football legend Fandi Ahmad sang a rendition of “Bunga Sayang” by composer Dick Lee.
After the event, she took a well-deserved break at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, with her room all decked out in Singapore-themed flags and balloons.
Ya Hui was also at the parade with her loved ones. She uploaded a Reels video on Instagram, sharing all the highlights of the event, from the marching contingents from the uniformed services to the aerobatic manoeuvres by the RSAF fighter jets across the sky, and of course, the spectacular fireworks.
We must say we love Kelly Latimer’s NDP outfit — a hot weather-appropriate floaty red floral dress paired with a beribboned straw hat. The host and presenter also shared that she was attending the parade for the first time with her kids, which we’re sure was a memorable experience.
