Fun fact: The Japanese consider instant noodles – not their awesome tech gadgetry – as their best invention of the 20th century.

All the better if it’s freshly made ramen served piping hot. Check out these 10 ramen restaurants in Singapore we’re loving!

10 Restaurants In Singapore For Japanese Ramen
1. Sanpoutei Ramen
image

Freshly homemade ramen noodles and a robust, flavourful broth stewed for six hours make up Sanpoutei’s signature Niigata Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, finished with meat and other toppings.

For something a little different, try the creamy tan tan broth, a harmony of nutty and umami flavours.

#01-01, 253 Holland Ave

2. Men-Tei Ramen
image

Men-tei Ramen occupies a small, intimate space that’s easily missed, but inside, it’s got all the vibes of a ramen bar in downtown Tokyo.

Their all-natural broth is made with pork and chicken bones bouled with high heat for nine hours, giving it a smooth yet intricately layered oomph. Go crazy with the add-ons, the yakibuta cubes (slow-cooked pork) especially.

#01-01 Robinson Centre, 61 Robinson Road

3. Brothers Ramen
image

The pair of brothers started out with an eatery called Homemade Dough and, by a twist of fate (and the realisation that they make a mean ramen), Brothers Ramen was born.

The broth is slightly lighter — perhaps to suit the local palate — but no less bursting with flavour. The braise pork belly will keep you returning, so since you’re already there, add an extra portion to your meal.

#01-20 International Plaza, 10 Anson Road

4. Ippudo
image

With over 100 stores in Japan and worldwide and 30 years of innovation under its belt, trust Ippudo’s secret recipe to contain some magic — think springy ramen noodles in a textured, vibrant broth.

What else we love: the array of tapas-esque sides, from pork buns to crispy corn and sushi rolls.

#01-55/56 UE Square, 207 River Valley Road

5. Burosu Honten Gyoza and Ramen
image

Here, customise your ramen as you like, from the richness and spiciness of your broth to the texture of your noodles.

One for both the curious and the connoiseurs: the special ultimate blend ramen, an intense brother that marries a robust curstacean gusto of seafood with the umami flavour of typical ramen broths.

#01-18 Marina Square, 6 Raffles Boulevard

6. Kanshouku Ramen Bar
image

“Kanshouku” means “to finish eating every last bit of your food” in Japanese. A pretty apt name for this ramen bar, we’d say.

As much as we love our ramen broth, we can’t say no to the unique truffle ramen — almost like a Japanese take on truffled angel hair pasta — a dry version of ramen generously seasoned with truffle oil and black truffle crumbs.

#01-06 Orchard Central, 277 Orchard Road

7. Machita-Shoten
image

One of the 16 amazing restaurants in Japan Food Town, we’d be making a pretty big claim to recommend this ramen eatery of all options. And we’d doing just that!

Their Lekei Ramen — where the noodes are cooked to your preferred doneness in a tonkotsu and soya sauce mix broth — is a thing of beauty; paiur your ramen with fried gyoza and finish every last drop of your brother with a bowl of rice.

#04-04 Wisma Atria, 435 Orchard Road

8. Tsuta Ramen
image

The only Michelin-starred ramen shop in the world, the humble nine seater eatery in Tokyo sees customers queueing as early as five hours before it even opens its doors.

Ramen lovers rejoice — it’s already in Singapore!

#01-01 Pacific Plaza, 9 Scotts Road

9. Ramen Bar Suzuki
image

The free flow of eggs and cabbage salad threaten to steal the spotlight, but the ramen’s still the star of the show here.

For something different, try the dipping ramen, served slightly chilled with steaming, richer-than-usual- broth on the side.

#01-01, 61 Circular Road

10. Ramen Keisuke
image

Said to be one of the pioneers of chicken stock based ramen, Keisuke has recently introduced a new menu featuring new dishes like dry noodles.

The tori king dry noodle is well-seasoned and uses maze soba.

#03-15, 100AM  100 Tras Street
