If you’ve managed to get your hands on the coveted iPhone 7, make sure you know these 10 things about it so you can fully optimise the phone and its functions.
They might be the exact same size but both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are lighter than their iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus predecessors.
The iPhone 7 is about 5 grams lighter than the iPhone 6s while the iPhone 7s Plus is approximately 3 grams lighter than the iPhone 6s.
One of the special features about the latest iPhone is that, it gives your phone better sound quality.
The iPhone 7 comes with two speaker ports — one at the bottom of the phone and the other on the receiver — so if you’re playing games or listening to music without earphones, you’ll get a more dynamic experience.

The iPhone 7 is said to run the cinema industry’s dual colour gamuts that accurately displays and represents colour. This results in photos that are sharper, more saturated and captures a wider range of colours.
Apple has also added in an image stabilisation function and upped the aperture range to ƒ/1.8 so your phone’s camera performs better, even in low light conditions.
This makes for crisper and louder sounds. You’ll also get better sound quality the next time you’re on the phone with loved ones.
Now that Apple has done away with a physical Home button, you can now customise the feel of your Haptic Home button and manage the way it response to you.
Want a tougher feel? Head on to Settings > General > Home Button and click on 3. You’ll feel that the response is harder, almost like an actual physical button.
Now that the earphone jack is gone, Apple has increased the size of the Taptic Engine on the iPhone 7 so that your phone feels more responsive.
Back when the Home button was a physical one, hard resetting your phone meant that you had to press the power button on the side of the phone and the volume down button to hard reset.
You’ll be glad to know that taking a screenshot with the phone is still the same. Just press the power and home button together!
If you’ve accidentally dropped your iPhone into the toilet bowl before, you’ll be glad to know that even if that happens to your iPhone 7, it’ll be fine!
Said to be able to handle being submerged under a metre of water for about 30 minutes, your phone could actually survive that fatal toilet bowl drop.
We wouldn’t recommend that you intentionally take your phone out for under water photos but if you end up doing so, be prepared to note that your touchscreen might not be responsive under water.
While the iPhone 7 Plus might have the largest battery life of all iPhones available, the iPhone 7 doesn’t fair too badly either. Given its specification, the iPhone 7 is said to be able to last 14 hours.
