This National Day Weekend (August 6th-7th), take your family out for a fun and free adventure around Singapore and discover what our beloved island has to offer.
If you’re Singaporean or PR, you get to enjoy free admission into The Science Centre with your little ones on National Day itself. There are plenty of exhibitions like the Butterflies Up Close, Marine Alcove and Waterworks that’s available all year round for you and your little ones to explore.

Start the day right with a nature hike through the Dairy Farm Trail. While you’re there, you can visit Little Guilin and spot some exotic species of birds and other wildlife.
Turn this into a little adventure for you kids by giving them a disposable camera and letting them take photos of the animals they spot or the sights they see.
They’ll love the added interaction. Just remember to pack the sunscreen and insect repellant.
Indulge in a relaxing picnic by the seaside at Sembawang Park and escape the hustle and bustle that’s going on in the Central part of Singapore.
Just before you head off, be sure to pack some games and toys for your little ones to play with or event rent a bike and soak in the sights while you’re there. At night, you might also get the chance to watch the fireworks happen!
Coney Island is one of the latest nature parks to open in Singapore but already, it’s drawing plenty of visitors. The part boosts five themed beach areas where you and your family can go hiking, ride bikes and attempt to find that one elusive cow that happens to roam the island.
While there, be sure to keep a look out for the plenty of different birds and other animals that call Coney Island home.
Various neighbourhoods in the East will be holding their very own National Day celebrations that include fun activities and a live telecast of the National Day Parade. From kampong-style games to performances and fun workshops, there’s plenty to do.
From the Changi Aviation Gallery where you can watch planes take off and land and learn about Changi Airport itself to the 12 metre high slide that’s the tallest slide in an airport or event interactive art installations, there’s just so much to see and do while you’re there.

This National Day, perhaps it’s a good idea for your kids to pick up a new skill! The Singapore Sports Hub will be hosting Learn-To-Play Sessions for kids 7 years and above to try their hands at different sports available.
Kids get to learn the game rules and right techniques for games like tchoukball, dodgeball, futsal and tag rugby all from experts and experienced coaches.
With four colourful water slides to a kid’s pool and water jets, who says waterplay for kids can only be done at the beach? Kallang Wave Mall’s Kids Water Playground is one of the most fun and exciting waterplay areas for kids in Singapore.
If your kids are aged between three to 12 years old, take them there for a splashing good time. Remember to pack some snacks because we all know how kids can get hungry after an eventful play day.
The Singapore Art Museum will be holding several exhibitions to tie in with National Day such as the Once Upon This Island feature that will explore stories and selected artworks from local artists.
Your little ones will also be given an activity sheet made especially for them to complete as they venture through the exhibition.
From workshops to performances and talks, plenty will be organized at the Esplanade come National Day. The non-ticketed event promises to deliver entertainment suitable for all ages.

Gardens by the Bay will be having their Orchid Extravaganza floral display on throughout the month of August.
Experience first hand the beauty of the most diverse range of flowers in the Flower Dome – featuring over a 100 orchid species and 10,000 orchid plants located within an enchanted forest, there is an orchid that is bound to be a family favourite.
Also, look out for Singapore’s National Flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim!
The ArtScience Museum has lined up various events that are happening on National Day weekend (13-14 Aug) It includes workshops that are perfect for children and parents alike. It is complimentary for ticket-holders of the exhibition.

Entry into Sentosa is free via the boardwalk so if you’re up for it, venture into Sentosa and visit the beach!
Inside, the Sentosa Express and shuttle buses offer free rides for you to explore different parts of the island. You can even take the shuttle to Sentosa Cove, take picturesque photos at the promenade and dine at the scenic restaurants there.
