Pasir Ris, not Paris. This east coast gem is a favourite with many recreational pursuers in Singapore.
Even its name supposedly translates to “beach bolt-rope, so it’s no surprise that Pasir Ris is the go-to place for weekend fun-seekers and day out adventurers.

This is definitely the park for some fun in the sun on this part of the island.
Besides hitting the beach, you can participate in cycling, inline skating, water sports, camping (with a permit) and even a barbecue.
There’s also a six-hectare mangrove forest and you can explore it via a cool Mangrove Boardwalk near Sungei Tampines. It’s also an awesome park for your active kids to enjoy.

Home to resorts and a country club, a huge water theme park, a cinema and so much more, Downtown East is a hot spot for families and youths looking to do some leisure activities and go on a staycation.
Your little ones will also love eXplorerkid there — a 35,000 square feet indoor playground with a 25-metre high indoor Ferris wheel. Keep a look out for their fun and special events too!
It all started in the early 1980s when abadoned figurines of Taoist, Buddhist and Hindu deities were found on the beach near Loyang Way. A small hut was then built at the end of the Loyang industrial area to house and worship them.
Decades later, after a couple of relocations, it remains one of the few unique inter-religious places of worship in Singapore. It is also one of the few temples in Singapore that is open round the clock.

Pasir Ris Farmway is a must-go for animal lovers. There are 14 farms in Pasir Ris and seven animal welfare centres, which will have to move out by the end of 2017 so be sure to visit and volunteer while you can.

This hidden gem requires a visitors’ pass to enter the vicinity as it’s housed in but don’t let that stop you from trying some classic American comfort food and other Western delights.
If you love your greens, there’s a salad bar for you to load up on your favourite veggies and we hear the salted caramel lava cake is a must-try here. RIce and local/Asian dishes are also available as specials.
