There’s more fun-filled activities to do with the family this week from an eco-friendly staycation to a few lingering Mid-Autumn events

There are a myriad of activities for the new week, from a sustainably-designed staycation spot in the heart of Singapore, to a vintage car exhibit in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Whether you’re feeling more introspective or would simply like to soak in the rest of the Mid-Autumn festival with the family, this round-up is for you.

Get Despicable with the Minion’s perspective exhibition at Resorts World Sentosa

Based on the world’s most successful animated film franchise, Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions franchise is now part of a touring exhibit that offers fans of all ages a look behind-the-scenes.

The 1,400 square metre exhibition will feature eight thematic rooms including Gru’s lab, The Girl’s Room and Minions Zone. Bring the kiddos along for a fun day at The Minion’s perspective as they interact with experimental projects in Gru’s lab and take a glimpse at the making of the Minion movies through sketches, film stills and character designs. 

Exhibit is available till 1 February 2023. Resorts World Sentosa Waterfront. Tickets start at SGD22 for children and SGD30 for an adult. 

Raise awareness for Breast Cancer at Dempsey Hill Motoring Heritage Day 2022

Catch Singapore’s largest display of vintage cars at the Motoring Heritage Day 2022, held in support of Breast Cancer Foundation the event hopes to bring vintage car enthusiasts together in support of this meaningful cause. Expect Exquisite marquee models from Daimler, Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, as well as popular classics from Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Volkswagen and Fiat. 

Besides the vintage car display, a unique photography exhibition will be held at ARTitude Galeria from 23 to 29 September 2022. ‘Ahead of Time’ features survivors with courageous stories of stopping breast cancer ahead of time

Help raise proceeds for the Breast Cancer Foundation with trips priced at SGD20 per ride. 

25 September 2022, Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Guests are encouraged to come in pink!

Show off your green thumbs with a Kokedama workshop

Inspired by the Japanese art of kokedama, this workshop by Little Big Garden takes a practical and modern approach to show the various ways of creating kokedama using commonly found houseplants. Enjoy a lazy sunday afternoon by getting your hands dirty, care tips and ideas on how else you can display your kokedama at home will be provided.

Workshop materials include a choice of 1 plant, sphagnum moss, string and a mini figurine. 

25 September 2022. Gardens by the Bay, Active Garden (Ficus Room)   1st session: 10:00am – 12.00pm or 2nd session: 2:00pm – 4:00pm.  Workshop fee: $55 per kit.

Catch the last of the Chinatown Mid Autumn Festival Celebration 2022

After a two-year hiatus, the annual Mid-Autumn Festival installation is back in chinatown.  Themed “Blossoming Flowers under the Full Moon” , the light installations will stretch across the streets of Chinatown. Alongside the light installations, the annual Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival Trade Fair will be available till 24 September with stalls featuring clothing and lifestyle goods, inspired by the festivities of course. So hurry down now and catch the last of the fanfare. 

Event runs from now till 25 September 2022.

Embark on a self-guided walking adventure with family and friends along the NS55 Interactive Trail ‘Cepat Jalan’ in commemoration of the 55th anniversary of National Service (NS55). 

Soak in historical insights and interesting facts related to National Service (NS) at seven Discovery Points along the walking trail located in the heart of the city. At each of the Discovery Points, watch the NS story come alive through Augmented Reality (AR) and games! 

Using your smartphone, head to one of the Discovery Points and launch the Cepat Jalan website at https://go.gov.sg/NS55trail to begin your adventure! Alternatively,  you can choose to experience the trail in the comforts of your home via virtual participation on the same website https://go.gov.sg/NS55trail.
