Prior to their church wedding ceremony and two-day wedding dinner, the couple had an elaborate traditional Chinese betrothal ceremony (or ‘Guo Da Li’) last week.

When asked about her wedding prep, the blushing bride had this to say: “I hardly slept the previous few days ’cos I was so excited. I wanted to get fairer and thinner. But all that just suddenly faded away. When you marry the person you really love, you get this adrenaline rush and happiness that will override all things, including the eye bags and the dark eye circles.”

The wedding dinner was a romantic and dreamy affair as the ballroom and reception area was outfitted to look like an enchanted forest with unicorns, owls and deers.

Close to 1,200 guests turned up to celebrate the couple’s union (they had 600 guests per wedding night).

And how did Cheryl know Roy was the one? “He puts my needs and happiness, and that of my family, above his own. For instance, knowing how much I love staying home, and how important my family is to me, he comes straight to me after work instead of hanging out with his friends,” she reveals.

By all accounts, Cheryl got the wedding of her dreams and much, much more. “The wedding is more than a dream wedding – much, much more than expected,” she gushed.

Of her multiple gorgeous wedding gowns: “I didn’t believe it when the lady at Vera Wang in London told me, “When a bride tries it on and knows it’s the one, that’s the one.” But it happened – when I tried on one gown, I knew it was The One – and then the brand and price did not even cross my mind. But thank God, it was a very reasonable price.”

Allegedly, all Cheryl wanted to do since she was young was to sing and dance. She got that chance at her wedding dinner when she wowed her guests with a sweet couples dance.
