
This coming week, there’s plenty to do and see in this little red dot. Never been to North America? Well don’t fret as the Hanging Gardens are coming to the Flower Dome or simply let off some steam by vandalising a wall within the heaven spot community.
As part of the ever-changing landscape in the Flower Dome, the space will be transformed into a Mexican Hanging Garden this August. Highlights characterised by Mesoamerican architectural elements include the Aztec double-headed serpent and 4m-tall replica of the iconic Chichen Itza pyramid of the Mayans. Handmade by the Mexican community in Singapore, medallions synonymous with celebratory occasions and vibrant floral displays made up of cockscombs and marigolds will be in full bloom.
The exhibit starts on August 20 to September 25 at the Flower Dome. Admission charges to the flower dome applies.
After a two-year hiatus, the Singapore Night Festival returns with over 55 exciting experiences. Filled with a line-up of arts, heritage and cultural experiences, the Bras Basah and Bugis district will transform into an eclectic space with a plethora of light installations and performance stages. Get the little ones involved by signing them up for a session of Chinese Calligraphy or Singa Rangoli where they can get hands on and interactive!

Heaven Spot is a community-driven space where participants are encouraged to vandalise freely in a one-hour graffiti session. Families with children (no minimum age limit) are welcomed, but individuals aged 16 and below need to be accompanied by parents and be able to wear a N95 mask.

Pique your child’s inner detective by exploring Chinatown in a ‘choose your own adventure’ role-playing tour. You’ll get to solve puzzles and unearth the dark secrets of Chinatown. Narrated by a gamemaster, participants will play as six different characters with different unique abilities to navigate the mind-blowing plot twists and various curve balls thrown at them.
Priced from $50/person, the trail starts at Chinatown MRT Exit C. This experience is best suited for children ages five and above. Children under the age of 13 are required to be accompanied by an adult.
