It’s been a week of happy news for a slew of famous names, who have either welcomed or are expecting new additions to their family. Here are the latest royals and celebrities who have welcomed a baby, or are expecting one!
Joker star Joaquin Phoenix and his partner, actress Rooney Mara, have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The news was shared by director Victor Kossakovsky at a recent Gunda screening during the 2020 Zurich Film Festival, of which Joaqin was the executive producer. According to him, Phoenix was absent from the screening as “he’d just got a baby, and had “a beautiful son”. He also revealed the baby’s name, “River”, which is in memory of the actor’s late older brother and actor, River Phoenix, who’d passed away in 1993 at 23 years old.
The couple confirmed their engagement in 2019, and news that Mara was pregnant was first reported earlier this May.
Hong Kong actor Raymond Lam, 40, and his wife, Chinese model Carina Zhang, are now the proud parents of one.
In a post on Weibo, the actor shared photos of a pregnancy shoot with wife Carina Zhang, alongside one of their baby daughter’s fist next to their hands. He captioned the photos, “The first time I felt the continuation of life was the first time I held you and felt your warmth and breath. Adorable baby, you have given me the motivation to fight on.”
He also thanked his wife, saying “Dear wife, thank you for your hardship. I’m not good with words but I’ll remember how good you are. I’ll use my life to protect and cherish this happiness.”
Carina also shared the news on her Weibo account with shots of her maternity shoot.
