Dislocations: Memory and Meaning of the Fall of Singapore, 1942
image

World War II is a heavy topic, but the ‘Dislocations: Memory & Meaning of the Fall of Singapore, 1942′ exhibition by the National Museum of Singapore aims to make it something you and your kids can learn about and discuss together.

The exhibition goes beyond the normal World War II narrative; you and the kids will dive deeper to learn and better understand the lives of Singaporeans during that time. These include previously untouched topics such as the evacuation of citizens a week before the war.

There will be digital touchpoints and historical artefacts together with video projections for a truly immersive experience.

You and the family can also look forward to interacting with Augmented Reality, where you will all be able to imagine what some artefacts may have looked like before the wreckage. Last but not least, you will be able to get close and personal with genuine anecdotes from seniors who lived through the war as children.

From 29 January – 29 May 2022. Admission is free. Located at National Museum of Singapore, 93 Stamford Road, Singapore 178897. Find out more here.

THE LIVES OF WOMEN
custom

What will the lives of women be like years from now in 2050? For families with children who have already begun to think about their future, this is an exhibition worth going to. You and the kids will be able to leave your wishes for women and Singapore as a whole on the message board. You can engage the little ones in thoughtful discussions about what kind of change they would like to see when they are older.

The display will take a look at the issues and trends that are shaping women’s lives, and pose questions about what the future will be like for us.

Your children can take part in the ‘Find your Life Path’ quiz and learn about some choices they may have to make in their lives. At the end, they will be able to see which Hall of Fame women made the same choices as them.

From now to 1 April 2022. Admission is free. Located at National Museum of Singapore, 93 Stamford Road, Singapore 178897. Find out more here.

These fermented liquids from organic waste can be used much like vinegar – you can use them to clean floors without chemicals, clean the kitchen, clean fruit and vegetables, and can also be used as insect repellents and plant fertilizers.

You and the family will learn how to ferment your eco-enzyme, learn about how to condition it, and what orange eco-enzyme can be used for in your eco-friendly home.
