Pokemon GO was just released last Saturday and if you haven’t downloaded the game yet, here are five reasons why you should.
School, friends, work… Not all conversation topics can gather the same investment from family members, but if you’re all Pokemon trainers, dinner conversations can involve training strategies and gym takeovers. Who says parents can’t be cool?
Post-dinner activities can either be lounging in front of the television, or heading out to a nearby park to catch Pokemon. Besides clocking in some exercise, you can share memories of catching a rare Pokemon with your family. That’s a win-win situation right there!
There are places in Singapore with a high concentration of Pokestops and gyms. In fact, Wildlife Reserves Singapore has released a map pointing out the location of all Pokestops and gym within The Singapore Zoo so that you can enjoy a day surrounded by nature, while catching Pokemons too.
Whether you’re hunting down rare Pokemons, or trying to take down a secluded gym, the beauty of Pokemon GO is to allow you to explore your environment. Take the opportunity to explore a part of Singapore you normally wouldn’t visit, or you can even plan your next vacation with the family around Pokemon GO! There are location-specific Pokemons like Mr Mime, which only spawns in Europe, Far Fetched in Japan and Tauros in America.
Those eggs you collected from the Pokestops don’t hatch themselves. While people have thought of creative ways of covering the 2km to 10 km distance to hatch the eggs, the best way is still to take walks, jog or run. Cycling works too, but if you go too fast, the GPS might register the speed as driving and won’t count towards the egg-hatching distance.
