Visit a Dahlia exhibit adorned with adorable rabbit figurines or go on an amazing race around Singapore to find 39 uniquely designed red packets. Usher in the Year of the Rabbit with a Dahlia display at Gardens by the Bay. In the flower dome, 100 rabbit figurines will take centre stage in the Flower Dome as part of the annual Chinese New Year floral display. These 100 rabbits, will be frolicking among more than 2,000 plants, including 40 varieties of vibrant dahlias all grown in-house by the Gardens’ horticulturists, as well as popular Chinese New Year blooms such as celosias, chrysanthemums, cymbidiums and pussy willows.

Universal Studios Singapore is celebrating the festivities with a whole line-up of Lunar New Year themed activities. Snap your way through the theme park and capture spring-inspired selfies along the cherry blossom street. Organised by the National Heritage Board, the popular Museum Roundtable Lunar New Year Hong bao Campaign returns with limited edition red packet designs featuring the zodiac animal of 2023 – the rabbit. Visitors will be able to collect a pack of unique red packet designs at each of the 39 participating museums, make it an amazing race for the kids in the family and explore Singapore’s heritage-rich museums on the side.

As part of Textures 2023, a series of live storytelling featuring local literature are taking place at various public libraries in Singapore. If you’re looking for a more laid back weekend activity to do with the younger ones in the family, consider this interactive storytelling session where the kids get to turn a self portrait into a caricature of an ant.

For participants aged 15 and above, this hands-on workshop will help to develop coding skills by using Qdee robots available at MakeIT’s library space. The Qdee is a wheeled educational robot that works with Microbit*, providing a great entry point for those interested in coding and robotics but are not sure where to begin.
* The Microbit is a pocket-sized computer that has been introduced in many schools world-wide to encourage students to come up with innovative solutions with coding.
In this beginner-friendly introduction to coding and robotics, participants learn to: Program a robot to drive in different directions using your own written programs.As the programme is designed for beginners, no prior programming knowledge is required.
