Time always seems to pass by quickly as we near the end of the year. We are already in the third week of November, which means we have even more exciting family-friendly activities to share so that you and your family can have a blast of a week. From events that will excite fans of Mickey Mouse to those looking to beat the heat, we’ve got events that everyone in the family will love.
For those still in the Deepavali spirit, Community on Colours is on display until the end of this week. It is an installation of 100,000 hand-made flowers by various multi-racial communities. Don’t worry; all the flowers were made from recycled materials.
Bring your kids along to witness the colourful artwork that is not only beautiful but that also showcases the special bond between Singaporeans of different races.
From now until 21 November 2021. It is displayed at Poli@Clive Street, Clive Street, Singapore, Singapore. Find out more here.
Give your kids a taste of snow with a trip down to Snow City for a day of fun in the cold. As expected of a place called “Snow City”, you can expect to make snow angels and snow tub in tropical Singapore.
Each ticket to Snow City includes a visit to the newly opened Ice Hotel Gallery that has five ice-carvings and snow installations (including an ice hotel room and an ice throne!).
For families with children 14 years and older, you can experience Singapore’s first sub-zero shooting arena. You can have fun battling with your family to see who can shoot down the most paintball markers.
Snow City is located at 21 Jurong Town Hall Rd, Singapore 609433. Tickets are priced at $12 for children aged three to 12, $14 for youths aged 13 to 17, and $15 for adults. This does not include the cost of renting winter wear. Find out more and book your slot here.
For families that can’t make the first day of the KAWS:HOLIDAY installation on 14 November 2021, you don’t have to worry because it’s sticking around a little longer.
For those that don’t know, a 42 metre-long artwork of KAWS’ signature character Companion is set to make its stop in Singapore after travelling to six different places around the world. It is going to be showcased at The Float @ Marina Bay for public viewing.
Bring your kids along to view the large – or, well, huge – artwork that will only be in Singapore only until the end of the week.
From 15 November 2021 to 21 November 2021. Find out more about the merchandise being released to celebrate the occasion here.
Ed’s note: The activity and the accompanying sale of merchandise have currently been halted due to a court order. We will keep this space updated.
Are you and your family Mickey lovers? Well, a new Mickey Mouse pop-up is opening its doors in Singapore this week, the first time it has ever set foot in Asia.
Within this showcase are seven rooms with different themes to make you and the kids feel like the family is visiting many different places (like a theme park!). These rooms include ‘Mickey’s Friendships’, which is said to be created by Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and other friends of Mickey. With that is the room “Forever Mickey” which takes a look into our favourite mouse in the future.
Bring your little ones to this pop-up for a day of nostalgia for you and one of excitement for them as you are surrounded by everything Mickey Mouse inspired.
From 19 November 2021 to 20 March 2022 at Suntec Convention Centre, Level 3, Suntec City Tower 1, Raffles Boulevard, Singapore 039593. Tickets are priced at $26 for adults and $21 for children (three to 12 years old). Buy your tickets here.
Want to wow your kids with sensory experiences for both the ears and eyes? Grains of Glory is a musical that does just that.
Combining music (both instrumental and vocal) with a sand art performance, listen to pieces from popular musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera and Anastasia while the sand artist brings music to life.
There are two shows, one on 19 November 2021 and the other on 20 November 2021. Both are held at 7:30pm. Tickets are priced at $50 for C reserve seats and go up to $80 for their VIP seats (including box seats). Find out more and book your tickets here.
Bring your kids out for a day of excitement-filled activity at Jumptopia. They have 15 different bouncy castles for you and the family to enjoy. With various concepts such as mazes, ‘rock’-climbing, swings, human-size bubble balls, and many more, you could call this an all-in-one experience.
Not only that, but they have mini ball pits and specially-designed obstacle courses for the little ones. Older kids can play in the adventure zone where they can work up a sweat, including taking part in F1 racing with a twist.
From 19 November 2021 to 2 January 2022 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Hall B, Level 1. Tickets are priced at $25 per pax. Find out more and book your tickets here.
It may only be November, but there’s no better time to start getting into the spirit of Christmas. Bring the family to a snow globe making workshop to make the perfect festive decor for the season.
This is a great activity for children who like getting a little crafty and that will enjoy using their creativity.
Note: This event is suitable for those 10 years and older.
The workshop is held on 20 November 2021 at the Fiscus Room, Active Garden. Tickets are priced at $45 for non-Friends of the Gardens and $35 for Friends of the Gardens. Find out more and book your slot here. Registration ends on 17 November 2021.
Does your child have a green thumb? Attend a short 10-minute activity that will teach your family how to grow your own microgreens in our urban city, all while being surrounded by plants in the Flower Dome.
You will be able to take home your own urban farming kit so that you can continue to grow your own delicious microgreens in the comfort of your own home.
Children five years old and above are welcome to participate in the activity, and unvaccinated children under 12 years old are permitted to join.
Held on 20 November 2021 and 21 November 2021 at 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 6pm respectively. It is held in the Australian Garden at the Flower Dome. Tickets are priced at $15 per pax, not inclusive of admission to the Flower Dome. Find out more and register here.
What is in the future for Singapore after two years of battling the pandemic? Beyond the Horizon is an online playback theatre that focuses on tackling this question.
For those who don’t know what a playback theatre is, it is an interactive and spontaneous performance where the actors listen to stories from the audience and then act it out using text, poetry, music, and more.
Sign up with your kids for this session to see your memories and hopes for the future come to life. If your child is worried about the future of Singapore, you can even paint a positive picture of the future for the actors to perform and soothe your child in the process.
Beyond the Horizon also gives your children the opportunity to voice out their own dreams in a safe environment for you to understand them better.
Held on 21 November 2021 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm on Zoom. Tickets are priced at $5 per pax. Find out more and sign up here.
