We’re at the midpoint of the June Holidays – give yourselves a pat on the back because we know it’s not easy balancing work life and family commitments at all. Treat yourselves to a fun time with your family with our list of family-friendly activities this week. Go crazy at lively carnivals, or release the tension at peaceful wellness workshops – and top it off with a sprinkle of sports and literature to balance it all.

Spot signs of sportsmanship and competitiveness in your kid? Try out the wide array of sport activities at the Multi-Sports Carnival, a collaboration between ACUVUE Abiliti and Homeground Sports. From basketball and tennis to archery and rugby, your kid will train their hand-eye coordination and agility in the midst of the fun. Rest assured – experienced coaches are facilitating the drills to ensure safety throughout the sessions.

This carnival also promotes the importance of eye health in the form of a complimentary eye service (worth $80) for each child participant. Participants end the day with a completion certificate and a goodie bag worth $140 – and likely a newfound passion or talent in at least one sport.

Use this carnival as a platform to learn how to support your child in physical health and education en route to achieving greater heights.

School’s Out Fiesta

Another fun jam-packed event to celebrate the June Holidays with your kids, the School’s Out Fiesta presents a day of play and learning. Rival against each other at the Basketball Challenge and Simulator Racing Station, transform into your favourite characters at the Face Painting area, and introduce your toddlers to the automation world with Electric Car Rides. With such a diverse range of activities, there’s surely something for each participant.  

With F&B stalls and giveaways, you stand to walk away with exciting prizes, delicious food and maybe even new friendships in the community! Admission is free, although certain activities may require separate on-site registration.

Daddy's Day Out

Father’s Day Weekend is in a few days – why not celebrate it at Daddy’s Day Out, where plenty of snacks and family games await? Performances, carnival rides, kid-friendly activities – you name it, they got it. Take part in friendly competitions such as the ‘Minute to Win It’ and stand to win a prize worth $400. Held at MPC@Khatib, the laid-back, easy-going atmosphere will help the dads relax, have fun, and forge fun memories with the family.

Wellness Fest Singapore (WFS) is back this year from 17 June to 9 July with a myriad of beginner-friendly wellness activities for all ages. It’s a solid collection which brings your family together in the pursuit for better spiritual and psychological health! Here’s some as a taster:

  1. 1-Day Holistic Kids Camp: The 3-hour long programme introduces the kids to yoga, art and sound. They will learn how to practise mindfulness via the storytelling sessions and various art mediums. ​Happening 1-4pm on 19 and 26 June, and 3, 10 , 17, 24, 31 July, at Canvass Mindfulness Centre, 5A Binjai Park, Singapore 589820.   2. Forest Wildlife Exploration: Exit the screens and enter the rainforest to reconnect with nature. Learn from experts on how to identify invertebrates and amphibians at night, and take a deep breath to release your worries into the night sky. With every step into the forest and away from the world, you enrich yourself in Singapore’s glorious biodiversity and let go of the tension within yourself. Happening 8-9.30pm on 17, 18, 24, 25 June, and 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 July, at Bukit Batok Nature Park, Along Bukit Batok East Avenue 2 and Bukit Batok East Avenue 6, Singapore 659761.   3. Kayak Sailing, Nature & Food: As the first and only kayak sailing tour in Singapore, they got you covered – no experience is required. They will take you to Pulau Ubin to explore the mangroves, where curious animals may peek. End it off with fresh seafood caught and harvested in real time. An unforgettable experience for sure! Hosted by our young local artists Krysta Joy and Javier as part of Apple’s Grow with Creativity Series, this workshop introduces the kids to the basics of GarageBand. Within 1h30min, they will explore the functions of music and the process of lyricising. For all you know, this could be the start of their singer-songwriter journey.
