February may be a really short month but it sure is packed with lots of exciting activities especially for the little ones in the family. Before we head into the March holidays, there’s lots to explore this month ranging from the newly-opened Peranakan museum to stargazing at the Singapore Science Centre. A workshop for crafty Frozen lovers

Can’t seem to let it go? Fans of Disney’s Frozen would be excited to know that a Frozen-themed craft workshop  is taking place this weekend. Frozen fans in the family will get to embrace their magical powers and create crafts that are linked to the story. During the session, expect to make an Elsa crown craft, Frozen theme pen stand, Elsa bookmark, make pretend snow and Marshmallow Olaf!

Learn about Online Safety with Google at Safra Punggol

Introduce your little ones to safe online habits at Google’s Online Safety Park. Take the kids out on a trip to Safra Punggol and learn about the many pros and cons of digital citizenship and pick up expert tips on online safety. The interactive event will see 4 different game stations and parents can learn to utilise Google’s family safety tools to create a positive digital environment for the whole family.

Join the Asian Civilisations Museum for an afternoon of immersive storytelling

Aptly titled Up, Up and Away! Let your head drift among the clouds at the Asian Civilisations Museum in a storytelling and drama performance. The little ones will also get to design their own special flying machine as a take-home souvenir.

Reach for the stars with the Stargazer Experience at Science Centre Observatory

Escape into the live planetarium show inside the Omni theatre, where a Science Educator will bring you on a tour of the current night sky. Immerse yourself in fascinating stories about the stars and end off the session with a stargazing session at the Science Centre Observatory. No two skies are ever the same and so each session brings a slightly different galactic experience to the viewers.

Revisit Singapore during WWII

In collaboration with “Light Amidst Adversity”, this exhibit will feature a display of historical and archival materials relating to World War II curated from the collections of the National Library and National Archives of Singapore. Wander into the path less travelled as you discover the story of resilience and resistance during the Japanese occupation of Singapore. 

Happening on 23 February 2023, 6 to 7pm. This is an online event.

Only available at the Science Centre Singapore, this is an amazing chance for the little ones to learn about the extremely rare Australian sea lion pup and the community of people who are banding together to save the species.

Reopening of the Peranakan Museum

After undergoing renovations for nearly four years, the Peranakan Museum is finally reopening to the public with nine new permanent galleries and reimagined installations featuring the stories of Arab, Chinese, Chitty and Jawi Peranakans. The museum hopes to provide the public with lesser known facts regarding the origins of the Peranakan identity and the role they play to Singapore’s diversity. As part of its grand reopening, the museum is celebrating with an Armenian Street Party, expect an exciting line-up of performances, cuisine and craft workshops.
