It’s the third week of the June holidays! If you’re running out of ways to keep your little ones entertained, fret not. We’ve picked out eight of the most exciting activities taking place this coming week for some family-friendly fun.
Treat your little ones to a delectable kids afternoon tea at Intercontinental Singapore, or spend a morning playing with furry friends at a Doggie Detectives programme. There’s also a Kolam workshop to look forward to, and a show with Otah the Otter and friends at Gardens by the Bay. Plus, a slew of activities happening at our local museums that are not to be missed.
Uncover a mysterious cave full of adorable little monsters and discover their treasure trove of stories in Monster Hunt, take part in a parent-child yoga session, or be enthralled by exciting and interactive storytelling sessions. There will also be craft activities, a photobooth, a book fair, and art tours of the Civic District in a vintage Vespa sidecar.
The three-day line-up of literary-based programmes include activities in English, Chinese, Malay, and Tamil.

During Deepavali and other celebratory festivals, you’ll see beautiful pieces of floor art adorning the entryways of homes. These artworks are called Kolam, which means ‘beauty’ in Tamil, and are made with coloured flour.
In this interactive, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to make your very own piece of Kolam art piece. Gain a deeper appreciation for the art form and culture as you try your hand at the art of Kolam.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for this activity.

It’s build-a-rocket day at school for Otah the otter and Billy the hornbill! Help them assemble a rocket, unlock the launch control centre, and blast off into space.
Follow the adventures of Otah as he introduces you to new friends, takes you to different locations, and completes his missions. In this story-based attraction based on Singapore’s wildlife, you can look forward to imaginative storytelling, elaborate multi-room set designs, and original gameplay for the entire family to enjoy.

Explore the Asian Civilisations Museum after night falls and you’ll find yourself experiencing stories and activities in a whole new light (pun intended).
Marvel at an interactive art installation, unleash your creativity in craft activities, and be entertained by exciting storytelling sessions. Also on is an interactive theatre performance where Salman, a 9th-century sailor from the Abbasid Caliphate, finds himself shipwrecked in a totally different space and time. Follow him through the hallways of the museum and be treated to music, songs, interactive storytelling, team-based games, and arts and crafts as he tries to return to his own time.

Bucky In Space combines two things that kids love: tabletop games, and space exploration.
A first-of-its-kind tabletop game, it teaches curious young adventurers about the architecture, art, science, and design of space exploration. The game is conducted as an immersive audio-visual-spatial learning experience, where your kids will develop their creativity and motor skills through 3D model-making. Through the game, they will also discover how space architecture contributes to the building of civilisation on other worlds such as the Moon and Mars.
This activity is recommended for children aged eight to 12.

Animal-lovers can look forward to Animal-Assisted Interactions Singapore’s (AAISG) Doggie Detectives programme, where they’ll get to spend a morning with the dogs and their handlers.
Through fun and engaging activities with the friendly pups, kids will learn respect, kindness, and a sense of responsibility towards animals. Using inquiry-based and hands-on learning, they will also discover more about each of the AAISG dogs and their handlers. To mark the completion of the course, they’ll get to bring home a tote bag with a detective workbook, lanyard, stickers, and their very own Doggie Detective ID.

For a special treat this June holiday, take your child to Intercontinental Singapore’s refreshed Kid’s Afternoon Tea: School Holiday Edition. Specially curated by Executive Pastry Chef Desmond Lee, the afternoon tea takes place at the charming centrepiece of the hotel, The Lobby Lounge.

For some carnival fun, head down to Supreme Young Explorers 2022.
The theme this year is Hansel and Gretel, and kids can visit the five carnival stations – Into the Woods, Pebbles & Crumbs, Candy House, Home Sweet Home, and Treasure Hauls – for some educational fun. Upon completing all five stations, they’ll get to redeem a goodie bag as a reward.
There will also be various workshops taking place at the event, including DIY craft activities, a fingers DNA profiling test, and a Father’s Day show.
