Located on Loewen Road in Dempsey, Wildlings runs a Forest School programme for most parts of the year which helps children connect with the natural world by learning, playing and exploring the great outdoors. This September, Wildlings is offering an outdoor adventure camp that packs a rich and immersive nature experience filled with child-led and nature-based activities catering for different age groups. Situated near the Swiss Club on Bukit Timah, the Mindful Camp is another full-day, full-week holiday camp that will have your kids occupied from Monday to Friday, 9AM to 4:30PM. Declaring to be Singapore’s best children’s favourite holiday camp, the Mindful Camp is designed to deliver “a healthy dose of mindfulness, arts, nature and play for the thriving child!” With a vision to guide children into growing up as happy, mindful and caring individuals, the Mindful Camp intentionally creates a safe people-centred space where kids can learn and grow playfully. This September, it offers two camps: Camp River for 5-7 year-old children and Camp Mountain for 8-12 year-old children. No list is complete without a coding camp. If you’re keen to give your little one a jump-start on computing, this impressive award-winning programme founded by an MIT graduate, (who also worked in Silicon Valley) is probably where you’ll send them. Coding Lab students have bagged National Olympiad in Informatics medals, won Inter-School Robotics Competitions, and—this may interest kiasu parents more—gotten into their chosen schools via the DSA (Direct School Admissions) exercise. Aside from regular after-school classes, workshops and special programmes online or across their four campuses, Coding Lab also runs modular holiday camps. This September, they will be offering camps online, at Bukit Timah (KAP) and Parkway Parade. Depending on your child’s age group, chosen module and level, there are two-day or five-day camps available. This is an awesome programme for young aspiring architects and designers. DesignTinkers presents a variety of fun-filled, immersive, hands-on sessions with the opportunity to learn fascinating real-world applications such as 3D printing, interior and eco-home design and treehouse architecture. A number of programmes are on offer over the September holiday week, although the younger children can only attend short parent-accompanied sessions on Saturdays to “Build a Treehouse” and “Design My Room” (5-14yo).
