If you have been searching for ways to keep your kids engaged and entertained during this Phase 2 period, the annual Singapore Science Festival would be perfect.
From July 25 to August 8, 2020, this science festival will take place online for the first time in 20 years. Organised by Science Centre Singapore and the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the theme for this year’s festival is “Empowered By Science”.
You can expect a series of over 30 interactive activities, virtual exhibitions, games and shows that you and your family can access at any time on sciencefest.edu.sg at no cost. Suitable for kids of all ages, here are some activities you can expect:
There are also limited-time activities, such as the Magic Milk Experiment, a virtual record-breaking activity via Zoom that you can be a part of on August 8, from 4pm to 5pm.

All you need are milk, dishwashing soap, food colouring or ink, and cotton bud.
This is a trademark event under the Singapore Science Festival where primary, secondary and tertiary students share their love of science through show-and-tell.
This year, shortlisted buskers will have videos of their performances uploaded on the SSF 2020 website, where you can vote for the most creative video, best science demos and best on-camera talents. This event runs all day, every day for the whole period.
The voting period is from July 30 to August 5, and the winner will be announced on August 14, 2020.
Get a new perspective on food with Dan Plane and Fran Scott from the Royal Institution in the United Kingdom for exciting demo-filled sessions about how each ingredient reacts when being cooked. Expect fire and explosions!
