If you’re still figuring out where to take kids for fun and educational activities this weekend, check out these seven indoor playgrounds!

July 11, 2019

Coming to Singapore in 2020: An indoor playground with PinkFong’s Baby Shark as its theme!

SmartStudy, the South Korean company behind Pinkfong, is preparing to open a playground in Seoul – and Singapore will have its first branch in Southeast Asia.

Ryan Lee, co-founder and chief financial officer of edutainment company SmartStudy, reveals this when he was in Singapore recently.

“The weather is hot and humid here, so I think there is an opportunity to do a kids’ indoor playground, one that is Pinkfong or Baby Shark-themed,” he said in an interview with The Straits Times.

The dizzying popularity of the two-minute-long Baby Shark song and video – first released in 2016 and then went on to break the Internet – shows no signs of abating. With 2.9 billion streams and counting, it is the ninth most-viewed video on YouTube.

While details about Pinkfong’s Baby Shark indoor playground in Singapore have not been finalised, the brand’s co-founder hopes it will open next year.

Till then, check out these other fun indoor playgrounds that are bound to get kids moving and running about:

The Number Wall has colourful designs and numbers to help your kids learn to count, while the Hangout Zone features a ladder, a monkey bar, a swinging rope and a wrecking ball that your child can swing on.

Besides building confidence, the climbing walls and zones can help improve your child’s core strength, balance, coordination and flexibility.

Prices: Public rates are at $29.90 per kids aged two to 12; $24.50 for those from aged one to two; accompanying adults pay $6.

Superpark
image

What: Join your kids at this spacious play facility, which is made up of several areas across two levels, each offering fun games and activities for everyone in the family.

The Adventure Area, for example, is an indoor playground that includes obstacle walls, trampolines, slides, play towers, and a pedal car-racing track.

The Game Arena has spaces in which to play baseball, golf, street basketball, and a host of other action-packed games, like Superpinball, Superhoop and Superbowling.

The Freestyle Hall is an all-in-one indoor sports park, with trampolines, a foam pit, a climbing wall, and a skate and scoot area.

Kids under eight years must be supervised by an adult aged 18 and above. All activities have minimum height requirements – for instance, your child has to be at least 1.2m tall to use the trampoline platform and obstacle wall.

Prices: Tickets start from $22 per person. Kids under age three enter for free.

Made entirely in Sweden and assembled in Singapore, the main play area has trampolines, tunnels, ball pits and slides, a rock-climbing wall and pull-up rings. There’s also a separate area for toddlers, with smaller slides, a mini ball pit and stackable foam blocks.

Prices: Walk-in rates are $4 for toddlers aged 18 months and below (inclusive of one adult) during peak and off-peak periods. Kids above 18 months old pay $16 (entry includes a maximum of two adults) during off-peak periods.

Off-peak periods are Mondays to Thursdays, excluding public and school holidays. Playtime is unlimited during off-peak periods and capped at two hours during peak periods. HometeamNS and T-Play members pay less.
