At 42-years-old, Korean actress Ham So-Won tied the knot with Weibo star and former idol trainee Jin Hua, last year. Love knows no bounds for this December-July couple who have an 18 year age gap between them. Jin Hua is also super wealthy! He’s the son of the CEO of a large farming corporation, and currently running an online shopping mall.

So-Won said her husband didn’t speak to her for two days after she revealed her age to him back when they were dating in April 2017. But Jin Hua said he had a good reason. “When I heard about the age gap, I didn’t think it was a problem. In the two days that I didn’t call her, I was thinking about how to tell my parents and our future plans,” he shared.

The pair welcomed their baby boy in December 2018 and shared the whole process with the world:

The actress, who ironically starred in a TV drama called Marrying A Millionaire in 2005 , said her husband won her heart through his good manners and caring gestures.

Barbie Hsu

The actress tied the knot with mainland entrepreneur husband Wang Xiaofei in 2010 in a lavish wedding in Hainan Island. The pair got engaged after a whirlwind romance of only twenty days. In 2017, Barbie’s husband opened a boutique hotel, which he dedicated to and named after his wife’s nickname “Big S”. While it is not exactly the Taj Mahal, S Hotel may well be a monument of love for the Instagram set.

Converted from a rented building located near Mandarin Oriental that has more than 100 rooms in designer Philippe Starck’s signature white modern style, with bathrobes, bed linen and other amenities that were handpicked by Barbie herself. It also features a Nordic restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Mikkel Maarbjerg. In the hotel lobby, there are photos of Barbie and her sister, host, Dee Hsu decorating the walls.

Ariel Lin

The Taiwanese television sweetheart is incredibly accomplished in her own right, but it certainly doesn’t hurt that she’s married to businessman Charles Lin whose family property worth exceeds $20 million. The lovebirds exchanged their vows in 2014 on Christmas eve. Since getting hitched four years ago, the pair has been maintaining a long distance relationship. Charles is based in California, where he works at a branch of his family’s diving equipment business while Ariel continues to base her career in Taiwan.

The star of hit shows It Started With A Kiss and In Time With You is said to have known her husband, for more than a decade but they only fell in love after they met again in 2012 at her cousin’s wedding, where she was bridesmaid and he was the best man.

Vivian Hsu

Of course, the Taiwanese singer-actress has amassed a fortune of her own, but in 2014, she married Sean Lee, CEO of Singapore-listed logistics company, Marco Polo Marine which was founded by his father. Vivian and Sean started dating after meeting on the set of the romantic comedy Sex Agogo which he had invested in. Things were not always smooth sailing for Vivian. Two years ago, Marco Polo Marine encountered financial difficulties due to a slump in oil prices and an ongoing legal case with Sembcorp Marine. Sean revealed that he had occasional mood swings at home when he encountered setbacks in his business.

Despite that, Vivian stood by her husband and was previously reported to take on more jobs to alleviate her family’s financial situation. When rumours that her hubby is on the verge of bankruptcy surfaced, Vivian responded to the rumours saying, “It’s okay even if we’re broke. It’s not a big deal and we’ll be penniless at worst – we were born into this world with nothing anyway”.

The Taiwanese heiress who is the daughter of the former chairman of Pacific Electric Wire & Cable, Sun Tao Tsun, has starred in several television commercials and earned several endorsement deals. In 1999, she tied the knot with businessman Henry Liao. Henry has made his fortune as the founder of highly successful Taipei luxury shopping complex, Breeze Centre.

Patty Hou

After calling it quits with Mandopop sensation Jay Chou in 2006, the Taiwanese host and presenter started seeing Citibank’s Executive Vice President Ken Huang who has a net worth of $400 million. In 2011, Patty and Ken sealed the deal in a romantic Bali island wedding ceremony with a 6-carat diamond wedding ring. Three years later, the couple became proud parents to a baby boy.

Cecilia Liu

In 2009, Taiwanese actor Nicky Wu dissolved his three-year union with Chinese actress Ma Yashu. Two years later, the actor was ready to try his hand at love again with someone new. He found that with his Scarlet Heart co-star Cecilia Liu. In 2016, the reel-to-real couple exchanged their vows at a wedding that fans hailed as the “best special episode”. Nicky who is 17 years older than Cecilia owns six personal companies, two studios, and three patents, but he has admitted that Cecilia is his “big boss.”

Gigi Lai

The Cantopop singer and actress – who is known for her roles in productions like War and Beauty and Young and Dangerous – has been married to Hong Kong billionaire Patrick Ma (pictured left, next to Gigi) since 2009. Patrick is the heir of a publishing empire, The Oriental Press Group, one of the largest newspaper groups in the Far East. The couple now has three daughters, twin girls, Pricia and Gianna, eight, and a third daughter, Pegella, six.

Tracy Lee

Tracy is a Malaysian-born actress and host who rose to stardom after taking part in the 2007 talent competition Star Search. Tracy tied the knot with Ben Goi, the scion of local tycoon Sam Goi, chairman of Tee Yih Jia Foods, which churns out 35 million pieces of frozen popiah skin daily. The latter who has been touted as “The Popiah King” has an estimated net worth of $3 billion.

Former Singapore president Tony Tan and wife Mary Tan, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, and Defence minister Ng Eng Hen were among the high-profile names at the wedding reception. Sadly, Ben passed away in February 2019 following a heart attack.
