Want To Save More Money? Here Are 7 Tips That Won't Drive You Crazy
1. Download a budgeting app
image

Apps like these help you to consolidate your expenses in an easy-to-digest manner. Visually, you’ll be able to see where you’re spending the bulk of your money and what you can definitely cut back on. So, even if you don’t use financial apps on a regular basis, it’s good to download them to get a reality check on your spending habits.

2. Unsubscribe from retail mailing lists
image

Even if you only unsubscribe from your favorite retailers for a month or two, not waking up to the latest deals and new releases in your inbox will save you money whether you realise it or not. Why? Well, because if you don’t see that cute new skirt then you won’t buy that cute new skirt.

3. Start planning your meals for the week

Unexpected meal purchases can be one of the biggest culprits when it comes to draining your savings. If you sit down on Sunday and plan your dinners for the week, you’ll be able to budget how much food you really need and stop yourself from turning to expensive food delivery apps.

4. Avoid budget stores like the plague

If you’ve been to shops like Daiso, Miniso and the like, then you’ve probably also walked out of there with two to three times more stuff than you went in for. Don’t worry it happens to the best of us but instead of exercising your (lack of) self-control, just avoid these shops altogether.

5. Add things to your online shopping cart, then close the browser

It can be a total stress reliever to shop around on your favourite site and we’re not about to tell you to stop doing that. But instead of hitting the check-out button, add everything you’ve been eyeing to your cart then hit the exit tab and let it all go. This will be hard to do in the beginning but like any habit, it’ll catch on.

6. Invite friends over instead of going out
image

This tip is so easy to do, you won’t even notice the change. Instead of paying upwards of $20 for a fancy cocktail when you’re at a bar, split the cost of a bottle of wine among a bunch of friends and you’ll all be happy drinking at home instead of some noisy dive.

7. Pamper yourself at home instead of the salon

Taking care of yourself is important so we don’t encourage you to stop the pampering sessions. Instead of going to a salon, why not take over those duties for awhile by yourself in the comfort of your own home? You’ll thank us when you’re flying off to that dream destination next year.
