10 Cafes For A Romantic Brunch Date This Weekend
1. Fynn's
image

Earn major brownie points when you bring your partner to the swanky South Beach.

And then more when you step into Fynn’s, daintily decked out in marble and rattan.

Hearty brunch favourites include the all-beef burger and grilled chicken fried wild rice bowl, while the desserts are generous enough for two to share.

#B1-21 South Beach, 26 Beach Road.

2. Wild Honey
image

A good brunch date will have you chatting for hours — that’s when you’d be glad you sat on the plush sofa chairs at the sofyly-lit Wild Honey.

The best part? Breakfast is all day and an eggs benedict at 8pm screams, “I’m spontaneous!”.

#03-01/02 Mandarin Gallery, 33A Orchard Road.

3. The Laneway Market

Dried flowers adorn the ceiling in this cosy cafe, while cheery fruit crates accent the dainty white-tiled walls.

Here, sous vide eggs crowning truffle mash makes for the ultimate eggporn, while other dishes like the miso aglio olio are laced with delightful Asian influences.

266 Tanjong Katong Road.

4. Open Farm Community

The elegant indoor dining area is luxuriously romantic, or, dine al fresco, your table overlooking the farm where the very ingredients in your food are grown.

Our recos: the 48-hour barolo braised oxtail strozzapreti is a contemporary pasta dish executed perfectly, while there’s everything to love about the steak tartare marinated with ginger chilli.

130E Minden Road.

5. Antoinette

Antoinette’s luscious look is reminiscent of an elegant Parisian boudoir — without a doubt, it’s worthy of its reference to Marie-Antoinette, the last Queen of France.

It’s got the food to match, too, with beautifully crafted cakes and fine brunch fare.

#02-33/34 Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road.

6. Rider's Cafe

Hidden behind the lush greenery of Bukit Timah is a rustic colonial house is Riders’ Cafe.

While horses idle in their nearby stables, tuck into their brunch specialties like brioche French toast with burnt bananas, bacon and honeycomb butter or smoked salmon and sweet corn hash.

51 Fairways Drive.

7. Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters

You’ll have to share a space at the communal table, but theat by no means takes away from the romance of your brunch date.

Especially with food this delish — truffle benedict? creme brulee french toast? slow-cooked ox cheek? Our hearts are won.

185 Upper Thomson Road.

8. The Summerhouse
image

This English countryhouse-inspired dining space is set amidst a lush garden and farming collective.

You guessed it — it’s a farm-to-table restaurant.

After your meal, take a leisurely stroll in the sprawling garden or head to the floral studio, which shares the space.

3 Park Lane

9. Whisk And Paddle

The brunch menu features not much more than the usual suspects, but they’re done well, so who’s complaing.

After all, the real star is the tranquil ambience of this riverside cafe.

On weekends, you’ll see families walking their dogs by the riverbank, couples taking a leisurely stroll, with lush greens and azure blue sky framing the scene.

10 Tebing Lane

10. Brawn And Brains

Nevermind that the menu here isn’t the most extensive — the oven-baked molten eggs on tortilla and melted cheese ($9.80, pictured), is all you need.

The rich flavours all come together decadently, one without the guilty, because avocado and salmon are healthy fat, right? And, it costs less than a tenner.

100 Guillemard Road
