Chef's Tip: Just a little cooking oil or butter will do
image

Use just a little amount of oil or butter to coat your non-stick cookware before you cook – this helps food from sticking to the surface. Avoid using non-stick spray as this can cause buildup of residue over time.

2. Bountiful Asian Seafood Soup

Hearty and satisfying, this pot of bountiful soup will go perfect with a bowl of steaming white rice.

Chef's Tip: Use wooden spatulas or spoons to cook
image

When cooking with non-stick cookware, it’s best to stir and serve with a wooden spatula or a silicone spoon, as this helps prevent scratches and damaging the insides of your pots and pans, and in turn lengthening the lifespan of your cookware!

3. Pepperoni, Oregano and Cheese Pizza

This one-pan recipe is great especially if there are kids at the table. Its colours of gold and red also make this an auspicious dish even though it’s not traditionally served at reunion dinners.

Chef's Tip: Cook over medium or low heat

When using a set of good quality ceramic or cast iron non-stick cookware, you only need to cook over low or medium heat. You do not want to overcook certain ingredients, especially seafood like prawns which cook fast.

4. Sumptuous Seafood Paella

An impressive and surprising one-pan recipe to whip up for your reunion dinner spread! It is full of vibrant golden hues – very auspicious for the Lunar New Year.

Chef's Tip: Hand wash your non-stick cookware
image

The best thing about non-stick cookware is how easy it is to clean and maintain. Let your cookware cool down before cleaning. Wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge or dish cloth, rinse and then wipe clean with a paper towel. Well-made non-stick cookware does not need rigorous scrubbing as it has a non-porous and super smooth surface.

5. Golden Curry Crab

Wow everyone with this spicy and delectable dish – it’s especially appropriate for CNY as crab represents prosperity and success in Chinese culture!

Chef's Tip: Season your cookware
image

Pre-seasoning your cookware from time to time helps it last longer and cook better. You can also do this the night before your big cookout. To pre-season your pan or pot, simply rinse it with water and wipe dry with cloth. Using a paper towel, rub a small teaspoon of oil (cooking or olive oil will do) around the inside of the pan.
