What’s buzzing at Conrad Centennial Singapore — a new honey-themed afternoon tea experience at its elegant Lobby Lounge.
For a honey-infused take on savouries, you’ll be digging into salmon and dill sandwiches, a buckwheat blini with ricotta cheese and eucalyptus honey, and a bourbon barbeque chicken slider with manuka honey. Then eat your way through extra sweet treats, from a hazelnut sponge with acacia thyme honey and mango, to avocado cheesecake laced with Manuka honey, and a pincho with elderflower figs and fruit chutney.
Choose from the wide array of teas to go with your spread, such as classic black teas, to Chinese tea and fruit-infused brews. Each set is inclusive of unlimited Ronnefeldt Tea or Brazilian Coffee.
If you’re opting for takeaway, the Honey Bee Happy Afternoon Tea Takeaway Box with a whimsical illustration is specially designed in partnership with Aloysius Low, an attendee of the Day Activity Centre at St. Andrew’s Autism Centre.
$45++ per person (weekdays) and $48++ per person (weekend). Additional $20++ per person for unlimited prosecco (two hours only). From $96.30 nett per set (for two persons) for takeaway or delivery.

Along the Upper Thomson Road stretch lies King of Wagyu, a new butchery that brings in premium A5 and A4 wagyu from different Japanese prefectures like Kagoshima, Miyazaki and Togushima. There’s also a mezzanine level that doubles as a cosy dining space.
The butchery also prides itself on offering secondary cuts of beef, since it brings in the entire cow. If you’re planning for a hotpot or shabu shabu party, get yourself the Japanese Wagyu Shabu Shabu ($33 for 100g), which comes from the shoulder clod — the meltingly tender slivers of beef gets both our thumbs up. The Wagyu Yakiniku ($33 for 100g) uses A4 wagyu chuck roll from Miyazaki that’s well-marbled and succulent.
The dine-in menu’s limited, with only sandos and steaks for mains, as well as a variety of sides. For sandos, you get options like a Nutty Curry A5 Wagyu Patty ($22+), Mentaiko Chicken Katsu ($18++), and Truffle A5 Wagyu Patty ($24+). We tried the Nutty Curry sando, which comes with a handmade wagyu patty slathered with a house sauce. It’s juicy and flavourful, but crumbles rather easily, making it a tad messy to eat.
Steaks-wise (dinner only, Fri to Sun), you can select your preferred cut (min of 150g per person and min. order of one side), and have it cooked and served from an additional $10+. We sampled the A5 Japanese Wagyu Sirloin, which was tender and fatty, giving it a rich beefiness. Add an additional $2 for a steak sauce; wagyu jus or truffle butter.
The butchery has also partnered with local indoor aeroponics farm Grobrix to grow their greens indoors and harvest them for use in their kitchen.
King of Wagyu is at 183 Upper Thomson Road, #01-01 Longhaus, Singapore 574429. Visit its website to shop or for more information.
