There aren’t many Greek cafes and restaurants in Singapore, but the ones that have made their home here are definitely worth the visit. From fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, to the classic blue and white interior. It might not be a flight to Santorini but it is one way to experience a Greek vacation in Singapore.
To get you started, we rounded up a list of five Greek cafes and restaurants in Singapore. Whether it’s their design or menu, you’re sure to feel transported to Greece for a brief moment.
One of the few Greek cafés in Singapore, Zorba is ideal for those who are looking for a pet-friendly, al-fresco, Mediterranean breakfast experience by the river in Clarke Quay. The stunning blue and white tones harken to the Santorini charms. They recently opened their brunch menu up for weekends, and our recommended order is the Avokanto ($18) for an avocado toast with pomegranate, caramelised onion, and feta cheese along with the Beet The Heat ($8) freshly squeezed juice in case the weather’s getting to you.
If you’re looking for a sharing appetiser for the table, you should definitely try the Tirokafteri with Pita Bread ($14) for a spicy cheese spread with feta cheese, hot peppers, extra virgin olive oil, and garlic. Or the Taramasalata with Pita Bread ($16), a salted and cured cod roe mixed with olive oil and lemon juice. The two were our favourite dips off the menu and their flavours were true to its Greek inspirations.
Zorba The Greek Café is located at 3A River Valley Road, Clarke Quay, #01-02, 179024, tel: 8879 0688
Located in the heart of Tiong Bahur, Bakalaki uses traditional ingredients sourced from authentic Greek suppliers. The restaurant also has seafood specialities from the Mediterranean basin that are true to its traditional roots. Day or night, the interior is vibrant and inviting with its natural light and warm lighting. The Htapodi ($32.90) is a must-order, the grilled octopus topped with lemon, oregano and extra virgin olive oil is simple but decadent in its flavours. Or if you prefer meat over seafood, try their Paidakia ($32.90), a grilled marinated lamb chops with oregano and rosemary

A feast for the eyes as much as the stomach, Blu Kouzina is easily one of the most beautiful Greek restaurants in Singapore. Decked out in blue with open natural light, this place makes for a beautiful lunch out in their outdoor seating or an intimate dinner with your loved ones. Try their Psarika Anamikta Seafood Platter and add the option of a Greek fish ($115.80). This platter comes with grilled squid, three jumbo prawns, and a Greek fish and is a perfect sharing dish for a small group.

Casual and cosy, Alati serves dishes that are made meticulously by hand. The menu focuses on seafood, as is the custom of Greek food, and their seafood is flown in directly right from the hands of the fishermen at the Aegean Sea. Their signature dishes range from Octopus Souvlaki ($39) a charred grill octopus on the skewer with aged beef Wagyu, parsley leaf salad, and roasted tomatoes all wrapped in thin pita bread. Mosharaki ala Polita ($35), for the meat lovers, is a dish with Angus short ribs deboned and accompanied with lemony Jerusalem artichoke purree and charred baby carrots.

Located in Sentosa, Mykonos On The Bay almost feels like an escape to Santorini (or at least the closest thing we can get to that in this pandemic). Focusing on authentic Greek cuisine with fresh ingredients, their culinary team specialises in seafood and grilled meats made from their custom-made charcoal grill. Try the Garides ($39), char-grilled ocean king prawns mixed with couscous salad and fresh herbs, and their Home-Made Potatoes Fries ($9) for the ultimate comfort food.
