Plant-based diets are high in fiber, antioxidants, and other phytonutrients, and are therefore, are naturally anti-inflammatory. Chronic inflammation in the body has been linked to various diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases. An international campaign that was started by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School Of Public Health For A Livable Future encourages people not to eat meat on Mondays to improve their health and the health of the planet.
