Ah, instant noodles. The bedrock of convenience comfort food. In fact, it has become such an essential in our everyday lives that supermarket FairPrice had to limit customers to four packets each after the raised DORSCON alert levels on Friday (Feb 7) saw waves of Singaporeans rushing to the supermarkets to hoard the precious commodity (we’re not kidding).

We love instant noodles because they offer a quick convenient meal option, don’t expire quickly and come in all sorts of exciting flavours like tom yam and ma la. But we also know that they’re typically sodium- and MSG-laden and low in nutrients, so it’s not exactly something to be eaten every day.

But sometimes, instant noodles simply hit the spot, so we don’t blame you for wanting to indulge now and then. Check out eight deliciously easy ways to cook instant noodles – and they don’t all come in a bowl!
