These Cafes In Singapore Serve Delicious Brunch

It’s no secret that the Aussies love their brunch, so it’s no secret that these Australian cafes in Singapore are enduring favourites, whether for a classic Eggs Benny or a quality cuppa.

It’s no secret that the Aussies love their brunch, so it’s no secret that these Australian cafes in Singapore are enduring favourites, whether for a classic Eggs Benny or a quality cuppa.

Heart brunch favourites at this beautiful, infatuation-inducing cafe — think vanilla hotcakes, corn fritters, truffle-infused omelette — only make a special appearance on weekends.

That’s not to say weekdays aren’t lively affairs, too, with grilled meat plates, superfood salads and more.

Have we already mentioned the space is spectacularly beautiful?

Cafe Melba

A portmanteau of (Melb)ourne and (A)sia, Cafe Melba brings out this concept through its food as well — all-day breakfast like the Muesli Brioche French Toast, the classic eggs benny, and the lighter options like salads.

Sarnies

It’s huge! That’s what they all said, so be warned: You’ll need both hands to handle their power-packed sarnies, Aussie slang for “sandwich”.

Alternatively, pimp your own breakfast with items like eggs done any style, sauteed mushrooms, guacamole and more, or go for brunch items like the Breakfast Burger with bacon, fried egg, rosti, relish and guacamole.

Head here for irresistibly creamy scrambled eggs and fluffy French toasts.

The menu may be small, but whatever they do serve, they serve it well.

Wash it down with a specially-imported Genovese coffee from down under, with a chocolatey, nutty profile.

Aussie brunch classics like the Quinoa and Chia Seed Pudding and the Ricotta Hotcakes taste just like home, while others, like the Pandan Madeleines with house-made kaya (coconut jam), are laced with local flavour.

Surely, this can only be pulled off by ones lucky enough to experience the best of both worlds, like Singapore-born, Aussie-raised Chef Chui Lee Luk.

When it comes to desserts, more is more for the Aussie creators of the Freakshakes, like the salty-sweet, Nutella-based Pretzella or the Snickers-in-milkshake-form Sneaky Freak.

Frozen Milk is used in place of regular milk, and what you get is an equally creamy treat although they’ve went easier on the ice cream.

Dimbulah Coffee
image

Dimbulah Coffee means business — their signature coffees are brewed with Arabica beans from their very own 33-hectare coffee plantation on the highlands of Australia, yielding a sweet chocolate-caramel body and a long finish on the palate.

We reckon you’ll love it a lot!

Common Man Coffee Roasters
image

Aussie expat Harry Grover’s, biggest lesson learnt: “Don’t assume because you have a concept that’s hit in London or Melbourne that it’s going to work here without some serious tweaking.”

Even so, a distinctly Aussie flavour isn’t lost at Common Man Roasters — whether aesthetically or taste-wise — and we’re in love!

A must-try: the Organic Eggs Benedict with tenderly braised ox cheek, coated in creamy Hollandaise sauce.
