Most of us have been working from home for almost half a year now, so it’s totally understandable if you feel like you need a change of scenery – or just one day of peace and quiet without the kids or the husband bothering you for something every ten minutes. Or maybe you need to clear leave and want to take a daycation. Here are some hotels in Singapore offering up work from hotel packages, with assorted luxuries to inspire you (or potentially distract you) to get the job done.
Situated near Robertson Quay, Furama Riverfront is offering daily or monthly passes that allow you to work in their newly renovated lobby space along with a host of complimentary offers. The Work From Hotel Daily Pass, $15, or Monthly Pass, $250, allows you to enjoy free flow coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks, high-speed wifi access, complimentary parking as well as 10 per cent off all restaurants and food counters in the hotel. There’s also access to meeting spaces (with first hour complimentary) as well as access to mail and courier services (with free stamps!) and printing facilities. And because parenting never stops even if the workday does, you can also bring your kids along and get two hours of free play at safari-themed, indoor playground Waka Waka (pre-booking is a must).
Here’s another work from home alternative, located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar. Sofitel City Centre’s elegantly decked out rooms are starting at S$190+++ for a Luxury Room or a Prestige Suite, where you can enjoy eight uninterrupted hours of complimentary WiFi, water, coffee and tea, as well as a free minibar filled with energising snacks. If you need to hold a meeting (for five people), the hotel also offers a Work From Hotel Meeting Room Package that includes writing materials, use of a whiteboard and complimentary drinks and snacks.
Spend the day at Orchard Road in one of Singapore’s premier luxury hotels. The Four Seasons Singapore is offering a daycation package which includes the use of its facilities including its rooftop pool, tennis courts, as well as a plush room at your disposal from 9am to 6pm. You’ll also get 20 per cent off at One-Ninety, One-Ninety Bar and Jiang-Nan Chun restaurant, free parking for one vehicle and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to celebrate the day. Also worth checking out is the hotel’s spa, which uses French brand L’Occitane products in a range of soothing rituals.
We might not be able to fly in the near future but we can still get near to the “action”. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is offering up their Deluxe Room as a personal workspace for eight hours, at just S$160++. This includes $30 dining credit, complimentary WiFi, coffee and tea, and a safety amenity kit including a protective face mask and hand sanitiser (in case you decide to venture out to nearby Jewel for a wander). You can also top up $20+++ for a Premier room which is more spacious and features nature-inspired design elements. Daycation guests are allowed to use the pool and other facilities but must take safe distancing measures into consideration.
The funky, new Lyf by Ascott at Funan is another one to check out for some time away from home. The very affordable and flexible S$70++/day offer gets you a private workspace in the shape of their One of a Kind studio, perfect for one person; or opt for one of their All Together rooms that are suitable for up to teams of eight (limited to five of course during this time) and comes with a shared kitchenette. Rooms are available from 9am to 7pm and come with high-speed WiFi, ensuite bathroom, stationery kit as well as coffee, tea and local snacks.
InterContinental Singapore at Bugis has an Executive Package for S$200++ a day for one guest (Standard Package starts at S$150++), where you’ll get to enjoy the use of a Heritage Suite from 7am to 7pm along with complimentary stationery, parking, five pods of Nespresso and TWG tea sachets. You’ll also enjoy a two-course lunch set at Ash & Elm for one guest, or $30 dining credit, plus access to the fitness centre and swimming pool.
Need your furry friend with you as a WFH companion? Top up $100++ for an upgrade, which includes includes pet amenities and $50 in-room dining credit. Or add a human friend for an extra S$30, inclusive of lunch or in-room dining credit.
InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay has a series of work from hotel packages, aptly called the Digital Nomads series.
The Private & Productive option starts at $69++ per guest for a half-day (four hours) and $99+++ for a full day (8am to 6pm). It gets you a studio room, which comes with full use of the mini-bar, Nespresso coffee, Monogram tea as well as in-room hand sanitiser.
The Ambient & Affiliated option starts at $49++ per guest for a half-day and $69++ for a full day. It gets you access to the executive Club InterContinental Lounge, where you can enjoy air-conditioned tables or outdoor sheltered terrace seating, plus snacks and barista-prepared coffee.
Both packages include access to the hotel’s pool, fitness studio and free parking. Add-ons include in-room dining credit from Marcello, $25++, cocktails and canapes at the Club Lounge, $40++, and private meeting space in The Study for S$100++ per hour.
