March 8 is International Women’s Day (IWD), a day dedicated in honour of women all around the world. This year’s theme is #EachforEqual, in reference to forging an enabled world by celebrating women’s achievements and raising awareness against gender bias. And while we’ve certainly come a long way, there’s still more work to be done!
Though International Women’s Day falls one day, we believe that female empowerment doesn’t (and shouldn’t) end there. There should be a continuous campaign – don’t you agree, ladies?
From a rightful shopping treat and an empowering hike, to special Women’s Day meals and more, here is a list of meaningful International Women’s Day (and beyond) events and activities around Singapore to motivate and inspire you:

Pearls invite a luxurious and feminine edge to any outfit, but an occasion to wear them may be hard to come by unless you’re invited for something more fancy or upscale. Carrie K. is redefining that custom, however, with their new Everyday Promises collection – in which they pair elegant pearls with everyday items like locks and pins as necklace clips and connectors.
Style-wise, this invention creates a more modern take on the traditional pearl necklace; but the options can also come to represent different meanings for you to take your pick from.
How it gives back: With every purchase of a Pearl Necklace from this collection, $50 will be donated to non-profit organisation United Women Singapore, which empowers 4,500 girls aged 10-16 by encouraging them to take up STEM subjects, as well as organises various campaigns and fundraisers to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality in the workplace and community.
