As the heart of the home, managing the space in your kitchen is incredibly important for remaining as functional as possible. 5 Ways That Will Help You Save Precious Kitchen Space
Minimise the plumbing

One of the biggest reasons the cabinets under-the-sink can feel impractical to use is that the various pipes connecting the sink to the water supply and boiling units consume a significant portion of this space. Consider installing a Billi instant filtered water unit that requires minimal space under the sink due to their compact design. With minimal space required you get the added bonus of filtered boiling and chilled water instantly at your fingertips meaning you’ll no longer have a pesky kettle or rotating jug of chilled water to deal with.

Use the insides of your cupboard doors

A well-attached rack or basket that clings to the inside of cupboard doors instantly gives you the space to store more items and products. Depending on how many cupboard doors are in your kitchen, you’re looking at a whole lot of extra space that’s perfect for frequently accessed and used items.

Put it all on show

Part of why it can be hard to keep cupboards organised in the kitchen is that there’s just too many different cooking and food-related items to keep track of. Pots and pans can take up the biggest footprint when it comes to shelving space and are often incredibly clunky when shoved into a cupboard. Consider installing wall hooks or a rack with hooks to keep your pots, pans and utensils in order. The flat-hang approach means that they won’t take up too much space either. Sure, they’ll be visible to guests, but that just means you’re letting them know how much of a culinary whizz you must be while hiding everything else in those now-vacant cupboards.

Hide the appliances

It can sound counterintuitive to hide appliances, but if you’ve got a spare cupboard it’s well worth setting it aside to house bulky appliances like your kettle, toaster, and KitchenAid. While it may be a bit of a hassle to constantly put them away and take them back out again, the reclaimed space can make a world of difference during food prep. It’ll also just make you feel like your kitchen is a clutter-free zone and encourage you to keep the appliances clean.

Organise your under-the-sink

The cabinets underneath the sink can often feel like an afterthought, ideal for shoving spare appliances, dirty sponges and cleaning supplies out of sight. Take a more structured approach and consider a thorough declutter, marking out clear zones for placing specific products and items. House cleaning supplies in over-the-door baskets on the inside of the cupboard doors to free up more room for appliances, and get small containers and baskets to help you help your organise your kitchen pantry.
