Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday that Queen Elizabeth II will step down as patron of a number of national organisations in the coming months after she turned 90 in April. The Palace said her patronage of leading children’s charities like the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and Save the Children UK, will be passed on to other members of the Royal family in due course.
Aides and commentators say there is no prospect of her giving up her job, and she will remain patron of more than 600 organisations despite her stepping back from the limelight a little bit.

The Queen kept it classy in cream when she and the Royal Family welcomed the world’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners from the UK’s diplomatic community to Buckingham Palace for the annual Diplomatic Reception.
Wearing royal blue for a special portrait with her son, Prince Charles, taken earlier this year at Windsor Castle to commemorate a year of her 90th birthday celebrations.
Her Majesty chose to look regal in purple when she formally unveiled the Elizabeth Line at Bond Street. Originally called Crossrail, the Elizabeth Line was renamed to honour The Queen in her 90th Birthday year.

During her down time at home, the Queen keeps it simple but sweet in a blush cardigan and tweed skirt pictured here earlier this year with Princess Anne at Windsor Castle.
It’s not all about solid colours when it comes to dressing the Queen. Here, she wore a flower-print shift dress to meet with the winners of the 2016 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.
Never one to shy away from colour, the Queen donned a yellow coat and skirt ensemble with a matching hat, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse’s Investiture and Garden Party in Scotland.

The Queen looked ravishing in red when she received a personal tour of the RAF Valley base from the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William. The Duke was stationed here as a rescue helicopter pilot in 2011.
The Queen wore green on her birthday this year and along with The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of their family, watched a magnificent flypast by the RAF from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Wearing yellow once again but this time in a more mellow shade, the Queen makes her way to a lunch for the Governors-General of the 15 Commonwealth realms with the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.

We couldn’t resist adding in this photo of the Queen enjoying a walk around the annual Chelsea flower show. Her outfits tend to match the colours of the flower seen here don’t you think?
While we love seeing Queen Elizabeth at public appearances in her brightly coloured outfits, we love it more when she hosts official royal events. She was practically dripping in diamonds as she delivered the Queens Speech during the State Opening of UK Parliament, in the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster in London.
