9 Creative & Budget-Friendly Ways To Display Your Precious Travel Photos

June 18, 2019

Everyone loves to travel and one of the best ways to relive your travel experiences is through the photos or videos you’ve taken while overseas. Besides posting these photos on Instagram or other social media platforms, or worse, letting them rot in your camera roll, consider one of these creative ideas that you can easily do to remind you of your amazing trips.

9 Creative & Budget-Friendly Ways To Display Your Precious Travel Photos
1. Put Them On Postcards

One unique way to keep your friends posted on your travels while simultaneously staying in touch with them is to create your own postcards. They’re really easy to do as well! Simply print the photos you like on stock paper. Or, you could remind them of how much fun you had by sending them professionally made postcards when you’re back, from sites such as Artifact Uprising and VistaPrint.

2. Make A Luggage Tag

Turn your travel photos into beautiful luggage tags — because, why not? Websites such as Jukebox and Shutterfly let you customise the design of your luggage tag so you’re always reminded of your previous trips.

3. Turn Your Photos Into Interchangeable Art

The next time you’ve returned from a big family trip or a romantic couple’s vacation, print out all your photos and pin them up on a framed corkboard. This serves as a great reminder of your trip and you can easily switch the photos out the next time you travel or turn the board into a planning board for your next trip.

4. Print Them On Stretch Canvas For Your Home

Alternatively, if you’d like something a little more permanent, you can blow up your travel photos and have them turned into art for your home’s walls. You could even sell them on Etsy and make some extra cash!

5. Create A Book

Photo albums are so passe. If your trip was a particularly memorable one, you could make a book out of it and add on different chapters. For example, if you’ve travelled to parts of the US and foresee yourself going back, you could create a chapter specially for that state you were visiting and add on even more when you finally visit other parts of the US. Places you can go to do that include Chatbooks, Blurb and Bookemon.

6. Make A Clothespin Display

Much like the corkboard photo display, this clothespin display is interchangeable and doesn’t require much upkeep. You can get this or this from Hipvan, or DIY by getting an old A4 size picture frame, stringing twine across it, and securing the strings on the frames. Then, get small wooden clothes pegs and clip away. Travel pictures, sorted.

7. Keep Them In Themed Boxes That Can Be Used As Centrepieces

Travel memento boxes are a great way to store your travel photos and trinkets without actually having to display them. Besides gathering all your photos in one place, these boxes can also be used as centrepieces for your coffee table and make for a great conversation starter when you have guests around. We recommend getting them from Gifts Less Ordinary or Paperblanks, or you could DIY by decorating some old boxes, such as DVD boxes or shoe boxes, like what this writer from A Pair and a Spare did.

8. Desk Calendar

Alternatively, you could create a desk calendar that’ll remind you of your travels and give you a warm, fuzzy feeling while you’re at work.

Websites such as VistaPrint and Photobook Singapore let you make your own calendars, where you get to choose from a variety of paper types, fun backgrounds and more.

9. Make A Collage Of Your Images And Display It With A Standing Frame

One of the easiest ways to display your travel photos is to create a collage, get it blown up and printed, and frame it up. This works too if you have a really striking photo. Afterwards, you could either hang it up or display it by placing it against a wall to bring attention to a particular wall or if you’re looking to add dimension to your space.
