HDB Or Hotel? Turn Your Space Into A Staycay-Worthy Retreat Like These Singapore Homes
1. Chill Vibes

Step inside this five-room HDB flat and you may feel like you have entered a boutique hotel. After all, that is what homeowner Don Lin based his design on — inspired by boutique hotels he stayed at in Malacca and Penang. The $80,000 renovation boasts a unique TV wall and plush seating in a spacious and airy living room.

2. Presidential Suite

The homeowners of this ground-level condominium unit had left the design and furnishing to Terry Goh of The Interior Library, who tempered the classical Versace style with clean hues and simplified patterns.

Terry explained that he wanted to design the apartment “like a grand presidential suite in a luxe classic hotel.”

3. Tranquil Haven

Hues such as brown, taupe and grey dominate the bedroom, living room and dining area of this five-room HDB flat in Redhill that belongs to Dr Victor Kwok.

Furniture from designer brands Armani Casa and Philippe Starck add a luxurious touch. He was inspired by a stay at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, where he was “drawn to the aesthetically clean lines” and its “contemporary but timeless feel”.

4. Sleep In Luxury

The master bedroom of this four-room HDB unit, which features a walk-in wardrobe and study nook, is inspired by the design of hotel rooms. A textured, champagne-hued wallpaper on the wall behind the bed adds a luxurious feel.

5. Mansion-nette

This capacious family home — a three-storey semi-detached house — is designed to have spaces unique to each individual, while still maintaining a unified look that is stately, elegant and absolutely alluring. The work took over a year and was overseen by Adrian Heng of Ottimo Spazi, and the result is a luxurious modern classic, hotel-inspired look.

Open sleeping and bathing areas make the room look and feel like a hotel suite. Read more here.

6. Urban Oasis

The owner of this three-bedroom condominium unit wanted a hotel-like feel by fusing resort elements with sleek, modern touches. Think lots of warm lighting and wood finishings.

7. A HDB flat that looks like a posh hotel suite!

Designer Arjan Twilhaar from Aiden T transformed this old HDB maisonette to resemble the confines of a luxury hotel, even including a first-floor suite for the husband’s mother! The front room of the maisonette was turned into a formal dining space. Beige tones and dark details give it a sophisticated appeal.
