It’ll be easy to mistake this home for an upscale boutique hotel, but it’s actually a three-bedroom condominium apartment in Tiong Bahru. Home to a family, the apartment is luxurious and contemporary, with plenty of room for storage.
Adrian Heng from SpaceOneID took on the challenge of designing and renovating this apartment. To address the family’s needs, he reconfigured the entire apartment and designed custom-made furnishings.
AT A GLANCE
Home: A three-bedroom condo in Tiong Bahru
Who lives here: A family with young children
Size: 114 sqm
ID: SpaceOneID
As the original kitchen took up too much space, Adrian redesigned it to make more space for the communal living and dining area instead. In the living room, they did away with the traditional TV console, opting instead to place all the systems and wiring at the side, so as to have a sleeker facade.
A black ceiling and dark-tinted mirror in the dining room create a cosy ambience without making the space seem cramped.
Here, Adrian also designed a custom dining table with a marble top, and dining chairs in green leather upholstery. Behind the dining room is a feature wall, which conceals a sliding door that leads into the kitchen.
As the family wanted the two daughters to share a room, Adrian proposed combining two bedrooms to form a larger room for the kids. A platform bed with a cabinet in the centre offers plenty of storage possibilities, while the bright orange headboards and hexagonal pattern of the carpet lend a fun and playful vibe.
The other part of this enlarged bedroom is the study.
For the master bedroom, Adrian chose a palette of neutrals, with a mix of textured fabric and laminate strips for the headboard. Subtle lines define the room, from the carpet runner to the textured vinyl on the walls.
The master bathroom is a bold combination of large-format marble porcelain tiles and timber strip tiles.
