The homeowners of this four-room HDB BTO home in Sengkang told their interior designers they wanted a Scandinavian-, Nordic-inspired design concept in their home. The solid hues are pleasing to look at and give the home a clean and soothing aesthetic. The wood panelled cabinets introduce some texture to keep the interior from looking too flat.
Using bright pastel shades against a basic white background also creates a welcoming ambience. The floor-to-ceiling cabinetry with a beautiful shade of powder blue injects some fun into this walk-in wardrobe.
Home to a couple and their toddler, this three-bedroom condo penthouse apartment features varying tones of pastel blue paired with natural timber. A combination of closed and open shelves provides visual interest, while giving homeowners plenty of storage solutions to play around with. The effect is a bright and airy interior.
This mostly-white one-bedroom apartment on Handy Road used pops of mint green hues for a more lighthearted yet chic look. Green is also very soothing on the eyes, which makes it the perfect choice for a sleeping zone.
Blue creates a calm atmosphere too. For the bathroom, opt for a glossy finishing that’s much easier to clean. A marble wall adds a luxe detail, and the trick is to use vinyl instead of actual marble, as vinyl is cost-saving and low-maintenance.
For a minimalist and restful atmosphere, show some restraint by incorporating pastels into just a few furnishings while keeping the rest of the palette neutral. Whether it’s a sofa, armchair or rug, a little can go a long way.
Instead of a single colour, why not try a cool ombre wall for your child’s bedroom or play room? Not only is it Instagram-worthy, it adds a creative element to the space that’s unique.
