Overwhelm. Anxiety. Frustration. It’s no secret that tidying up is a chore for most of us, especially when there’s a lot to do in a short time. Most of the tediousness comes from decision fatigue from having to choose what to do with something and where to put it, then repeating this choice with tens or hundreds of items.
If the decision fatigue is getting to you, then it’s time to hire a professional organiser who can not only remove that burden, but also look at your overall space and give advice on the best way to organise it.
For Alex, the founder of Kalm Organise, it’s about optimising a home for a better life. “We convert the space into practical spaces that the family can enjoy,” she says.
A passion for tidying had led her to start professionally organising other people’s homes. “One of my friends came over to my place and was amazed how organised and neat things are, so she asked if I could help with hers,” recalls Alex. “I ended up helping several more, and through word of mouth, I was helping friends of friends. That’s how it started.”
Today, the team has expanded and they’re transforming lives for the better, one home at a time. We chat with them to find out more about how they can benefit homeowners.
When you’ve tried many methods and it still not working out, it’s time to reach out to a professional organiser.
Our clients engage us for many different reasons. Sometimes, it’s a family member that’s suddenly ill and they need the space in a quick turnaround time, or a life change like a new baby or a child transiting to primary school.
Other times it’s when they move in and need extra help to set up the space from scratch. We organise it all for them so they can have a great start to their new home.
Hiring a professional organiser can save you precious time and energy, when you’ve tried many times to sort your space out but aren’t moving forward.
First, we need photos of the space they want to organise. After looking at the photos, we’ll follow up by doing a video call.
Our process is end-to-end, meaning we take care of everything from planning to tidying to buying organisers as needed. However, we do need the homeowner or decision maker to be present for 45-60 minutes, so they can tell us what they want to keep, donate, or toss away.
After that, our team will sort out everything and present to them a newly-organised space at the end of the day. After cleaning up, we’ve had homeowners who said their space became completely unrecognisable!
The cost estimate really depends on the space and condition of the home. It can cost from $320 to $2,000 depending on the number of people we deploy.
They can expect a seamless, end-to-end solution to their messy home. When we hand over the place back to them, we’ll also explain the concept and how this flow will benefit them and their family. We will also share with them how modular the concept is and how they can adapt the space in future without making it messy!
They are usually quite shocked (in a good way) by the outcome. And based on our reviews, the transformation in their lives happens quite immediately.
Periodically, we will also check in with them to see how they are maintaining the space, if they have any difficulties, etc.
But based on our clients’ feedback, they are usually happy and they have already been maintaining or re-configuring those spaces well on their own. Some of them are even inspired to tidy up the other areas of their house.
We just did a toy re-organisation, and not only does the place look so much more spacious and neat, there was an instant change in the way the kids behaved!
The kids don’t have to ask where things are. They’re playing and doing things independently in the area, and putting things back themselves. The kids proudly tell their mom that now they know where things are!
