As much as we love wearing navy blue and brown colours to work, we can’t help but feel a little bit bored of the dullness sometimes. And if you’re nodding your head in agreement with us, then we totally get you. So the next time you’re out shopping for something new to wear to the office, why not take a step out of your comfort zone and venture towards brighter colours.
Here’s a little secret: If one day you ever need a quick remedy to a bad day, head on over to Michelle’s Instagram feed at @bubblymichelle. It’s a cornucopia of gush-worthy makeup looks, honest reviews of beauty products and travel shots that will definitely induce wanderlust in you.
Style-wise, Michelle approaches fashion with a coolness that’s always tasteful and classy. Here, she takes on the trend of wearing neon pastels, and she sits down to talk shop with us on her must-have beauty product, her style and how she loves herself.
When did you decide that you wanted to become a beauty blogger?
“It all started with me posting makeup looks on Instagram way back in the day. As time passed, I got more questions about my makeup, so it was a natural progression
into blogging because I could then direct them to an actual post with all the relevant need-to-knows.”
If you were stranded on an island, what’s a beauty essential you hope to still have?
“I guess it would have to be a cleanser. Everything else would be useless without it!”
Describe your style for us.
“My style is very classic. I don’t really follow trends, and I tend to stick with simpler silhouettes. My way of having fun with my clothes is by playing with proportions, and I also love accessorising, usually with shoes and bags!”
What are some things you look out for when you go shopping?
“When I shop, I’m always on the lookout for timeless pieces. I like to get items that I can restyle again and again, so they usually come in neutral colours and simpler cuts. Occasionally I’ll pick up a statement piece that can really elevate a look for a special event or a date.”
Complete this sentence: Loving myself means…
“… making time for myself, and for constant self-care. For me, that means an extensive and lavish skincare routine, or a holiday to some place inspiring.”
What makes you feel sexy?
“A striking red lip.”
