Thanks to Singapore’s humidity and heat, you’ll be sweating buckets after rolling out of bed. Being sticky and sweaty all the time can be a real pain. Use these tips to stay dry and fresh in the unforgiving weather.
Choose lightweight fabric that doesn’t trap heat like cotton, so that your skin can breathe. Cotton is a natural fibre that absorbs moisture, so you won’t feel your shirt sticking to your skin when you perspire.
Perspiring is almost unavoidable in this weather. Opt for dark colours like black and navy to reduce the appearance of sweat stains. If wearing dull colours isn’t your style, pick clothes that are flowy so less fabric will stick to your skin. This allows for more ventilation, which helps you cool down in the heat.
Sprinkle baby powder onto common sweaty areas like your neck and armpits to absorb the sweat. The pleasant scent of baby powder can also mask body odour.
It always helps to leave a bag of essentials in the office, in case you have a last-minute date or meeting. Put a set of clothes, baby powder, deodorant and towel in the bag – that will ensure you stay fresh and clean at all times.
This may sound weird, but it’s proven to be effective: Create your own DIY underarm pads to save you from unwanted wet spots in the pit areas.
Be nifty by using panty liners as a temporary padding. Cut the panty liner into half and secure it on the inside of your shirt at the armpit area using safety pins.
