We see them often on TV, Star Awards, SBS and SMRT bus advertisements, but we seldom see them as humans. These popular local celebrities have been in many facets of our lives growing up, and Home and Decor wanted to know what goes on in their lives beyond the glitz and glamour of the camera and TV screens.
Here, four of the most recognisable local actors here in Singapore and their cribs.
He looks fun and goofy, and is best known for his self-depreciating humour. His on-screen persona is a crude, local Ah Beng (hooligan), but Mark Lee is actually a refined man with a distinct taste for art.
In his home, we saw his extensive art collection, and his own take and decisions in the interior design of his living space.
Did you know that the 39-year-old Taiwanese-born TV host shares an apartment with his younger sister, Rainnie Teng?
The siblings’ house was an extension of their personality – filled with items of desire that they loved. In Lee Teng’s case, it was a toy collection. Lee Teng collected action figurines such as Iron Man, Bearbricks, and Ted collector pieces.
Former actor Vincent Ng is best known for his super luxe bachelor pad in Sentosa Cove, The Residences at W Singapore which made the news all over Singapore a couple of years ago.
Comparing his bachelor’s pad to the landed house which he intended to stay with his parents, the interior design styles were largely different. The former was more upbeat, the latter matured.
In 2010, Chinese actor and reality TV host Pornsak famously moved into a condominium that fellow comedy actress Michelle Chong helped him find.
It was a three-room condo in Bukit Timah spanning 1,420 sq ft that he paid $800,000 for.
Back then, the Thai and Chinese born Pornsak had just made a break in his celebrity career – having just entered the local acting industry in 2004.
The three-room condo saw his friend Michelle Chong’s art collection decorate the walls, along with Pornsak’s own extensive toy figurine collection.
