If there’s one thing a savvy shopper loves, other than a good discount of course, it’s an affordable dupe. After all, while we’re on the way up shattering glass ceilings, it wouldn’t hurt to bling up our look with a couple of nice jewellery, without breaking the bank.
From pieces that faintly resemble Tiffany & Co. to trendy pin-inspired designs, we’ve gathered 10 pieces that look more expensive and luxurious than what their price tags allude.

While Pandora might be known for its charm bracelets with a million charm varieties for you to customise, we especially favour its rings, because they sport a sophisticated and upscale design that will leave people none the wiser. Take this tiara-inspired Wish ring for example: It looks rather like Chaumet’s famous Joséphine Aigrette ring, don’t you think?
Another one that’s similar to Tiffany & Co., this Swarovski design brings to mind the iconic Tiffany heart pendant necklace which we have all coveted at some point in our life (or are still lusting after). Swarovski’s variant is available in two colours, rhodium or rose gold plating, and both come pavéd with the brand’s sparkly crystals.
Reminiscent of Tiffany’s HardWear collection that also features chains, this Monica Vinader iteration is just as cool and edgy but at a fraction of the price. This bracelet is available in three variations — rose gold, gold and sterling silver — and the best is, you can customise the length by adding or removing links, and you can even add charms to the bracelet to really make it your own.
This By Invite Only necklace is another design that uses semi-precious gemstones so you look graceful AF. In this instance, it uses opal, but the local jeweller has other similar silhouettes that uses other stones such as blue apatite and pink rhodochrosite.
If Japanese jewellery label Mikimoto tells us anything, it is that pearls can be made into extremely ornate jewellery pieces that come with an equally opulent price tag. But if you’re looking for a classic silhouette that will match with your wardrobe for any social event, the humble pearl stud is the way to go. This iteration from local jeweller Carrie K is made either with white (pictured) or grey freshwater pearls, and adds a touch of class to a velvet black dress.
Jewellery featuring semi-precious stones can cost a fortune due to its rarity and beauty. However, homegrown label Tree & Bee manages to keep its options affordable by using smaller gemstones, such as this minimalist ring that features a rose cut red garnet. A variety of stone options are available, including green onyx, iridescent Ethiopian opal and black spinel.
This Wanderlust + Co uses multi-coloured cubic zirconia to resemble colourful, but expensive, precious stones. Dainty and understated, you can layer a couple of them to create a varied, stacked look or just wear one to channel that French girl chic.
Channeling a quiet sophistication, this bracelet from Lucy & Mui, another local jeweller, features a thin metal chain with a 2mm round solitaire diamond as the crowning finish. You can also choose from a variety of metals for the bracelet — rose, yellow and white gold — to suit your skin tone.
Pins and clips are some of the latest motifs that have quickly found a place in jewellery. Don’t believe? Take a look at Virgil Abloh’s paper clip-inspired jewellery line or Japanese label Ambush’s safety pins collection. But you don’t have to shell out big bucks to get on this quirky trend, these Laura Lombardi earrings are just as chic and just as unique.
If you take a look at many of the luxury jewellery labels, you’ll find a sleek, polished aesthetic that is common to them all. Minimalism sells. This simple, classic gold cuff from Thomas Sabo hits all those points and is best worn stacked with other cuffs or braided bracelets. Also available in rose gold and sterling silver.
