Wearable tech items are gaining traction in Singapore and what better way to jump on the bandwagon than with these smartwatches? Here are eight of the best ones in the market right now.

What: An upgrade from the first generation Moto 360, the Moto 360 2 m.comes with two different dials and in watch sizes: 42mm and 46mm.
It operates on the Android Wear system and comes with 512mb of memory space. However, 4gb of storage space is available too. Said to be faster than the first, the Moto 360 2 seamlessly feeds data from your phone to your smartwatch so you have information on hand easily.
Price: $479-$549 for different straps and watch sizes.
What: Perhaps one of the best looking smartwatches available, the Apple Watch comes with many different strap types, making it easy for fashion forward folks to don one on.
The watch feeds data from selected apps (that you choose from the Apple Watch app on your iOS device) so you’re always updated on the latest happenings. The watch can also be used as a fitness tracker and occasionally sends alerts to let you know if you’ve achieved your personal fitness goals.
Price: Starts at $448 for 38mm and $529 for 42mm. Prices depend on watch straps and watch finish.
What: Its sleek, seamless design is probably the main reason Android users love the Samsung Gear S2. The Gear S2 comes with a stainless steel body with a rotating bezel, home and back buttons for easy navigation. The watch also has various watch face and band designs thanks to input from Italian designer Alessandro Mendini.

What: Built with GPS connectivity, the Sony Smartwatch 3 SWR50 makes working out so much easier. You no longer have to take your phone around with you when you workout for it to track your movements and progress.
The watch can also pair with wireless headphones seamlessly so you don’t have to worry about wires and everything else. The SWR50 supposedly has a two day battery life so you don’t have to worry about plugging it in all the time.

What: A no frills smart watch that allows you to change the faces of your watch and connect with other ZenWatch users. The ZenWatch 2 is said to charge 35 percent faster than its predecessor so you get 50 percent battery life with just 36 minutes of charging.
The ZenWatch 2 is also voice command capable so you don’t necessarily have to tap it to get information from the watch.

What: A smartwatch with its very own cellular connection, making it easy to receive notifications even when it’s not connected to a phone. The best part? The watch can supposedly be paired with both Android and iOS devices.
Design wise, the watch looks just like a regular timepiece.

What: A smartwatch with an impressively clear AMOLED display, the Huawei Watch is one of the biggest in the market. Its screen offers 360 degree visuals and makes everything look a lot sharper. It’s also said to process faster than most watches, impressive considering its screen size.
Price: $549
What: Created for the user with an active lifestyle, the Garmin Vivoactive is thin and GPS enabled. It also has built-in sports apps that lets you view your stats and progress even when you’re not connected to your phone. The battery is said to last through all your sporting activities for up to three weeks if left in activity or tracking mode, making it a great companion for your active lifestyle.
