Whether you’re looking for a restaurant to celebrate (be it birthdays, anniversaries, your latest job promotion…), want to impress your overseas friends, or simply feel like upping the ante on date night, look no further. Singapore now has 44 Michelin-star restaurants to suit your fancy, compared to 39 last year.

This year’s Michelin Guide Singapore, held at Capella Hotel in Sentosa, revealed that TWO restaurants received the maximum three stars this year: Odette and Les Amis. Both French fine-dining establishments previously held two stars each. (The last three-star recipient, Restaurant Joel Robuchon, closed down in June 2018.)

How are the restaurants picked and awarded?

The rating by anonymous Michelin inspectors are based on five criteria: Ingredients’ quality, mastery of cooking techniques and flavours, value for money, projection of the chef’s personality in his or her cuisine, and consistency (over time and across the entire menu).
